Physics is a physical science which studies matter and its interaction with nature. This includes the study of space, time and energy. The principles of physics and its applications has a vital role to play in the society, this is because physics is observed in our daily lives and its relevance cannot be undermined. The knowledge obtained from physics has contributed greatly to technological advancement over the years thereby improving the quality of product.

Physics as a science is more of our every day life, that is to say , physics it part of our daily life. The study of physics brings about the basic knowledge needed for solving societal problems using mathematical approach in most cases.

Talking about the relevance of physics I would like to talk about various fields in which physics has contributed to mankind and the society. The following are just but a few

ELECTRICITY
Electricity is one of the biggest discoveries that has ever been made by mankind. It is through the study of physics that we have a proper understanding that results to the production of useful electricity. The basic electronics we use daily in our homes and offices comes through the knowledge acquired in the study of electricity in Physics. The basis of electricity is by creating a voltage differential with the use of a simple device as the battery, electrons begin to move and thereby generating electricity. These electrons then power the circuits which makes televisions, lights, radios and every other
type of electronicc device to work in its capacity.

TRANSISTORS
The transistor is the basic part of a computer system in which computer chips are created. The transistor is a semiconductor device that was developed when solid state physics came to its prime. The applications of different voltages make a semiconductor device to hold and store informations until a voltage is applied to change it. Through the working principles of transistors computers are now able to store large amount of informations in transistors.

FLIGHT
Airplane has greatly advanced over the years and this is primarily due to the advances in physics. It is in accordance with the Bernoulli's fluid dynamics formulas that Airplanes are capable of taking a flight. The number of people a plane can carry is directly proportional to the amount of thrust generated. The thrust pushes the wing forward and when air curves over the wing it causes lift. The rate of wind generated determines the weight a plan can carry, thats is, the faster the wind, more lift is generated and more weight the plane can carry.

SPACE FLIGHT
The science of rockets relies mainly on the formulas for thrust and combustion derived from physics. With these equations or formulas we can be able to calculate and deduce the thrust needed for lift off. It is with the understanding of pressure that the vacuum of space can be overcome. Space flight is one the greatest achievements, the future of mankind is determined by a better understanding of physics.

NUCLEAR ENERGY
Nuclear bomb is one of the most powerful weapons at the disposal of mankind, it directly results from the study of physics. The process of fission is used in atomic bomb to split heavy atoms apart. Nuclear energy is a solution to our energy problems now and in the future. This field of study has greatly impacted the society.

The above are just but a few of the areas in which physics is of great relevance to the society


CONCLUSION
Physics as a field of study has contributed immensely to technological advancement in our society, our modern aspects of life wouldn't have been possible without technology. Hence the society is dependent on technology which tells us how relevant physics is to the society. Physics gives rise to technology and the concepts of technology is directly beneficial to the society.

Physics can never be undermine because it's part of our daily life. If there is no electricity the earth wouldn't have been a conductive place for humans.
