INTRODUCTION

To us,
who blew our one chance at true love's eternal bliss.

Based on a true story.

Enjoy

"We used to be close,
But people can go,
From people you know,
To people you don't.
And what hurts the most,
Is people can go,
From people you know
To people you don't."

Selena Gomez, "People You Know"

Life: The Growing Distance Between Us

It was a beautiful evening,
The room lit with orange lights,
People, a few, gathered, reading
And , with friends, had come for same

Deep into the calm of the evening,
Engrossed, I was, in my reading,
she came and I sat beside me,
ecstatic as a smile covered her face.

"A question, or two", she said to me,
"For t'is hard, I understand not", continued she.
Perplexed, bewildered by charm and poise,
I begun to write, t'is Physics laws.

"Thank you", said she,
With charm's smile all over.
Sweetly she left,
And I, had lost it, composure.

Days and weeks, brought I and she,
Slowly, yet surely, closer we drew.
Pondering, I thought, "How could this be?"
T'was affection's flare, way beyond me.

How.jpgBeauty, O beauty was she...

Closer we drew, happier I grew,
Her charm and smile was I knew.
Day by day, as fresh as dew,
Love blossomed, ever new.

My solace, twas she,
A hiding place I'd grown to love.
Her brilliance, her charm, brewing new,
I felt at peace with all things, too.

Weeks became months, time went by,
Our union, sky high.
"O, this feeling", sang my soul,
Alas, I had found my own.

Such bliss, unreal...

Somehow, however,
Things began to weather.
Quickly, twas swiftly,
My world began to fall.

Deafening, the silence,
When it first began.
Her smile, her charm,
Vanished, they were all gone.

Confused, bewildered,
Muddled, disoriented.
Thus was the state my my soul,
My once joyful soul.

"What had I done?",
asked my saddened soul.
For what I received,
I had never known.

Deafened by the silence...

She wandered further and further,
Increasing daily was the distance.
Deeper and deeper was my fall,
And my tears knew no resistance.

O, was I, so much in love,
O, was I, this bliss was pure.
O, was I, flowing in joy,
O, was I, never unsure.

Years went by, three by the count,
T'is today, I write this song.
Upon an old and weary soul,
First love, t'is I , still holding on.

Should we
fall further
and further
away,
O, my soul
shall linger
in pain.

For none,
O none,
can do to me
what she, sweet she,
had done in me.

Should she,
find me,
And fate bring forth,
love's
rebirth,
my soul,
shall rise,
to meet ,
her, yes she,
in sweet,
pure bliss.
