Although I'm not a student yet but rather a Jambite,I still have my choice of institution that I will like to attend,do well to read up maybe you can find my school of choice interesting.

Introduction

Before I proceed,I will like to talk about what a school is all about.

A school can be said to be a building or educational institution where knowledge about a particular thing is being passed from the teachers to the students. It can either be a nursery, primary, secondary or tertiary.

With regards to this contest,I will be recommending the university of my choice to everyone here.

In Nigeria Universities,there is a general slogan that binds all Nigerian students together which is:
"A luta continua; vitória é certa", meaning "The struggle continues; victory is certain".

Then in my school of choice,the popular slogan that the students use to run the students affairs is;

•Tell us the name of your school and where it is located.

The name of my school is Michael Okpara University Of Agriculture, popularly known by the name (MOUAU). MOUAU was the former Federal University of Agriculture Umudike.

The school was established in the year 1992 but resumed its school activities in May 1993 which was a year after its establishment.

LOCATION

Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike is located at Agricultural Training and Research town of Umudike which is about 9 kilometers from Umuahia town, the capital of Abia State. The major link road to the University is the Umuahia – Ikot Ekpene Federal Road, a direct route to the State capitals of Abia, Akwa - Ibom and Cross River. Being close to Umuahia, the University is linked through a major North- South Express Road to most parts of the country. It commenced its activities at the premises of the former Federal College of Agriculture, Umudike (At present the Federal College of Agriculture has been moved to Ishiagu, Ebonyi state).Reference

As you can see,the university is in the heart of Abia state and this is one of the best development in Abia state because it is the only federal and major tertiary institution in Abia state.

•The necessary documents required to gain admission into your school.

For one to get admitted into my school of choice, there are some criteria the person has to meet in order to get the admission.

Requirement for fresher.

In order to get admission as a year one student in my school,you must complete the general entrance requirements which are;

• You must be uptown 16years old.
• You must have 5credit pass in WAEC examination including two major subject (English and Maths).
• Your WAEC result must be gotten within two sittings only.
• You must reach JAMB cut off mark for that year.
• You must as well pass the school aptitude test.
• Finally,You must have a birthday certificate,state of origin,school leaving certification amongst other important certificates the school might ask of you.

Aside from the general entrance requirements, there are additional College or Departmental course requirement depending on your choice of course and your department or college.

Requirements for change of institution.

Maybe you're a student in another institution and wish to switch over to my school,the requirements are;

• Purchase and complete the prescribed application form obtainable from the University Registry at Umudike.

• Posses the minimum entry requirements for admission into the university as well as the special requirements of the proposed Department/ programme.

• Make Sure that their academic transcripts and special reports on them (forwarded by appropriate officials of their former institutions) are received in the admission office of the University.

Requirements for Direct entry.

To get direct entry admission into the university,the requirements are;

• O' level result.
• OND/ND (Distinction)
• HND (Credit)
• NCE (Double Major) at Credit Level
• OND/ND (Credit)
• NCE (Double Major/Merit Level)

Candidates with qualifications as in (i), (ii) and (iii) as listed above may be admitted into the 200 level while those as in (iv) or (v) may be admitted into the 100 level. Holders of the ND with a minimum of upper credit passes in addition to O level credit passes are normally admitted into the 200 level of the programme while holders of HND certificates may be admitted into the 300 level except for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programme.Reference

So as you can see,the requirements isn't too much and it can be achieved.
