Hello everyone, In this post I'll be writing on the xiaomi mi 11 ultra. I'll also be comparing the mi 11 ultra to the Samsung s21 ultra because one of the reasons xiaomi made the mi 11 ultra was to beat Samsung's s21 ultra. So... Let's see how that turned out.

Now... Different phone companies like to focus on one purpose when making a flagship phone; some may focus on design, some software, or even marketing. But xiaomi took all these things into consideration when making this phone. Now... Let's look at some features

BOXING

The box design is not actually special although, nothing is actually missing. It comes with a USBC to headphone jack adapter, a standard clear phone case, a USBC charging cable and a 67watts fast charger.

PHONE DESIGN

The body of the phone is actually nice, although people are not so comfortable with it because of the widened camera making it somehow uncomfortable to hold, plus you'll most likely see dust round the edges of the camera. But the purpose which that camera serves is absolutely worth it. Instead of using glass for the back they use ceramic which is a v-pro material. Though I think I prefer matte glass, because the ceramic will probably make the phone heaven for some people and will surely attract fingerprints.

PERFORMANCE

Most times, when Samsung produces a new S-series phone, it usually wins the best display of the year until the note version comes in with some advancements, but xiaomi just broke that cycle. Though they used a Samsung made panel and made it better. The s21 ultra provides 1500nits display while the mi 11 ultra provides 1700nits, which is one of the brightest displays ever. Mi 11 ultra has a 480hz refresh or sample rate while the s21 ultra has 240hz, that's why the xiaomi scans touches faster and displays 10-bit colours while the Samsung displays 8-bit colours, it is quad curved i.e it slopes at all sides of the screen ( top, bottom, left, and right). Both phones come with a default 12gb of RAM but xiaomi has 256gb of storage while the Samsung has 128gb.

As for the camera at the back they actually collected the screen of the mi band 5 (one of xiaomi's activity tracker watch) and placed it at the back of the phone, connecting it to the back camera. This screen can display time, quotes, pictures or even your profile. Though it turns off after 30sec maximum.

BATTERY

Though fast charging in phones is not that good because it can degrade the battery, which can split one cell into multiple cells giving you a lower capacity, xiaomi just did fast charging in such a way that it won't affect the performance of the phone. Though both phones have 5000mah battery, xiaomi charges faster. Now instead of 70mins on the s21 ultra, the mi 11 ultra has 40mins till full charge.

CAMERA

When it comes to camera I think it's actually a draw. The xiaomi is better at the back camera while Samsung is better at the front. The sensor of the main camera in the xiaomi ( which is 20% bigger than Samsung's sensor) has an outstanding ability to separate foreground and background colours, it also has more lighting which makes shots cleaner and can also shoot 8k videos. As a result of this xiaomi didn't put much work into the front camera and that's why the Samsung's front camera is better.
