Web3: The future of the internet

The world has changed drastically over the years, so has the internet. Web 3 is the future of the internet. We have had Web 1, web 2 and now web 3. A major feature of web 3 is that it handles data in a more decentralized manner, hence it could be called the decentralized web. This is in sharp contrast to web 1 and web 2 which are heavily centralized.

Web 1
This was the beginning of the internet. It consisted more of static web pages than dynamic web pages. As a result, users could access information from anywhere in the world but that was how far they could go. Users didn't have the luxury of interacting with web pages because the pages weren't dynamic.

Web 2
This is the version of the internet we are more used to seeing today. It allowed users to do more that just view web pages. People were able to interact with web pages. Users could create accounts, make comments, publish stories and many more. This paved the way for social media and even e-commerce sites to blossom. Since web 2 came into existence, the internet has been developing at an incredible pace. Web technologies like HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript played major roles in facilitating web 2.

Web 3
This is a more intelligent and open form of the internet. It's major bedrocks are Artificial intelligence(AI) and semantic web. Web 3 is known mostly for it's decentralized nature. With the use of AI, users can access and interact with data at a much faster rate. Web 3 is known to be the foundation of blockchain and cryptocurrency technology. Web 3 can also be called semantic web and it would be smarter and more open. With web 3, it's is expected that browsing experience would be more personalized and that it would have a very close relationship with the cryptocurrency technology.
