I was counting the thousands of dollars I made and smiling while thinking of various ways I would lavish the money. Before I could finish counting my money I heard my favorite song playing in the background and before I knew what was happening I awoke from my slumber. I rushed to check if I still had the money but alas it was all a dream. We were to have an exam today but a certain lecturer felt it was best to fix his class a few hours before the exam and everyone literally everyone was annoyed. I couldn't sleep well the night before due to certain reasons 😉.

My roommate and I played rock paper scissors to decide if we should go for the class or not (he was against going for any class and I wanted to go for the class incase of any surprise tests). We dressed our best and walked all the way to the Economics department (My department) and it is a 30mins journey from our Lodge. We arrived for the class all tired and hungry just to find out that the class had been cancelled. This was just the height of frustration and you had to see my roommates face 🤣 I almost died of laughter. We couldn't complain because it's not the first time this was happening so we held our hunger and stayed in school until it was time for the exam.

A group of friends ( about 10 in number ) decided it was best to revisit past questions just incase of any surprises. As we went through them we saw a really hard question and without any hesitation, we skipped it. Then someone asked "Why don't we just attempt this question?". And I replied "On how I see this question for exam I no go answer am". There was a brief laughter which was followed by continuous questioning. Before we could even go far it was time for the exam.

Previously some final year students advised us to do this particular elective, they refered to the course as "sure A course" and trust us we rushed and chose the course. For some years that course had been the easiest but that changed today. We all entered the hall happy and eager to write but as soon as we saw the questions and the instructions that followed the question. I took a look at my question sheet and it looked like a comprehension. 1 question had section a, b, c, d and e and each of these sections had i, ii, iii, iv which were to be explained extensively and discussed.

I looked at the lecturer's face and he wore this evil smile😈 as if he wanted to see us suffer and it sure was working. A 2hr 30 mins exam started entering the 4th hour and only one person had finished. At a point I stopped writing to laugh at myself for choosing the course. A couple of grade "A" students were collecting their third extra exam answer sheet while I hadn't even exhausted the first one. My fellow cruise students got frustrated and submitted their papers blank. A student tried cheating and got 30 marks taken away from him, that was when it dawned on us that there was no hope. Before we knew it the time was up and only 4 people out of 120 had finished.

As a student I can't kill myself so I just went to fill my empty belly with food and sleep after which I decided to write about my day here. I came across alot of compliants on peoples whatsapp status about how miserable the exam was for them.
