🔆Intro🔆

Hello people of planet earth, Rasheed is back and kicking actively with a new blockbuster post which tries to relate and motivate school students especially those in the University. I do apologize for my inactivity and although there are no salient reasons, I'm here and here to stay. Let's see what this post has in store for us

As Children who all passed through the primary schools where we all had career days and told ourselves what we want to be in the future. We smiled and said we wanted to be a doctor, teacher, lawyer and other various white collar professions. As we grew older we started moving towards our various professions in the secondary school where we had to choose between science, business or the humanities (Art). After making these choices, we honed our knowledge towards a particular field of study and for those in Africa we had to write WASSCE (West African Senior School Certificate Examination) which was needed to enter the University and finalize our career choices.

Now in the University, we are given freedom from immediate parental control and we get to meet various people from various parts of the world and learn alot from them. We are forced to mix with the good and bad to get life experiences. Here we make decisions like choosing the right friends, coming to class early, doing assignments, studying hard and other school like activities.

There are several classifications of students but here I would only mention 4 types.

  • The smart ones that decieve others
  • The "I don't really need school to succeed" ones
  • The Front benchers
  • The ones who just go to school because they don't have anything better to do

The first category includes those students who go to school and play around in the midst of their friends but are undercover bookworms. They tend to be really smart or above average but don't show it. They often read at home and are secretly really serious with their studies.

The second category includes those who got fed up and avoid majority of their classes. They often start looking for anyway to make money without schooling. They usually prefer money gotten through fraudulent ways (not all the time though) and don't really care about the money their parents spend on school fees. They usually settle students and lecturers who help them academically.

The third category includes students who know what they came to school for. They are determined on one thing only which is to excel in class and come out in flying colors. They are often hated by the laissez-faire students for their attitude.

The fourth and final category includes those who don't belong to any of these categories mentioned above. They just go to school because they have to. They don't always come to school but they attend a fair number of lectures. They barely read until the exam period and aren't really bothered with their grades. They just go to school because their parents told them to and not because they have a huge goal to achieve.

Now as for lecturers, there are 4 categories. There are other categories but this category is based on my speculation.

  • The category who love teaching and want to carry all their students along. These are everyone's favorite kind of teachers because they devote themselves and their time to make sure everyone is following. They often give students Area of Concentration and don't mark questions harshly.
  • The ones who just do it because it's their job. They don't usually care if their students understand all they care is that they taught the topic and they did their job.
  • The lazy ones who make the students do all the reading and understanding themselves. They always give assignments and tell the students to form notes. Although this method works for some students, it doesn't always go well.
  • Those who are always traveling and give students exam questions they've never seen before. They usually hand out materials at the last minute before the exam. Majority of their classes during the semester are cancelled or really short.

🔆 Conclusion 🔆

So many students have wasted their precious time and lives in the University while the wise ones used their time wisely. Your parents sent you to school study and make the best out of your short time there. If you feel you need money or if you feel you can joggle making money with education then do it but if you can't then your education comes first. Parents go through alot to make sure we go to the University but some of us waste their investment and that's really terrible. I sometimes put myself in their shoes to see if I would like if my child did these things to me.

Avoid bad friends, bad influence and negative peer pressure as these things can lead to great danger to our lives and the lives of our loved ones. Human lives are being lost everyday as a result of rituals, accidents and hanging around the wrong group of people. Many are not contented with what they have, they seek for more at the expense of others. It's the sad reality of the world today so please be good people and find a right way to go through this game called life. Hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks for reading ☺️.
