How do you grow your money?
Have you made any sort of investment?
How do you spend your money, carefully or carelessly?
One the many books that I read that left me thinking deeply was the SMART MONEY WOMEN and it's sequel the the SMART MONEY TRIBE.
It is a book written in a very simple way that promises understanding to its readers. It made me question how to go about my finances, how to invest and let my money grow.
You get to realize that having a million in your account does not make you rich, rather having a rich investment. If your investments can fund your lifestyle, then you can hit your chest and say you have arrived.
It was woven with characters that you could relate with every step as you read the book with each chapter ending with exercises and diverse ways you can go about the investment thing.
It is centered on five ladies each with different battles who foughg their ways through financial freedom. It is relatable as it was written from a Nigerian perspective.
Majority of Nigerians live from salary to salary yet we are impulsive buyers. Most of the ladies I see live way below their salary range yet they want the latest designers in the market. If there is anything SMW taught me, it is that you must make it a duty not to let your personal expenditures be higher than your income. If you are going to spend, generate a means to earn the money for your impulses.
Don't go around buying things on credit which will only be paid off when the salary is being paid only to start the cyclic process again.
