As I wrote about yesterday, Louis Oosthuizen still leads the British Open after the 3rd round thanks to a round of 1 under the par. However, Collin Morikawa has closed the gap to 1 shot and Jordan Spieth remains 3 behind the South African.
As with many players yesterday, his first 9 holes saw 2 birdies on holes 7 and 9 but a disappointing back 9 with bogeys on the 11th and then on the 13th. Only a final birdie at the 16th hole has kept him ahead of Collin Morikawa on a score of 12 under par.
As for Collin Morikawa, he experienced the opposite of his rival. Two bogeys at 2 and then 5, he had to recover and he did so by getting 2 birdies at holes 7 and 8. Repeating this performance at holes 13 and 14, he finished the round 2 under par and returned to a single shot behind Louis Oosthuizen.
Behind the leading duo, Jordan Spieth kept 3rd place and Corey Conners had the best round of the day with 4 under par.
