I'm gonna get a little misogynistic in this one or at least it is going to appear. I am only writing about this because it is expected in this day and age where almost anything is going to make someone start complaining and some feminist will come out of the basement to write another scathing article about the lack of equality that exists in women's sports as compared to the men's side of things. It used to happen quietly but in the age of finding a problem with everything, these things get brought to the forefront more and more.

According to the feminists that are complaining about this particular sport, ESPN is not giving the women's and men's division equal time and also is not going out of their way to take a bunch of pictures or to have post game interviews available for people to watch. I am not sure if the games are available to watch live or otherwise because I, like most people in the world, find women's sports to be quite boring basically across the board.
Whenever these people come out of the woodwork to moan, they always make a point of talking about the fact that the men's side of things gets a ton of attention and this is the case with this particular story. The author goes so far as to suggest that ESPN and the NCAA are intentionally being rude to the women's teams for some reason or another.

The women are playing in front of a non existent crowd, just like the men but here is the difference between these two scenarios. Most of these teams, even the top division 1 women's teams, play in front of not sold out crowds in years that don't have Covid..... why? Because people don't want to go see this.
I'm sorry if this sound misogynistic but people, including other women, simply aren't interested in the rather slow-paced semi-action that comes along with women's sports and no amount of whining from feminist authors is going to change this. They tried for ages to get us to pay attention to this argument when they were saying that the Women's national soccer team gets paid a lot less despite the fact that they win the World Cup and the men barely qualify for the tournament. I would love to see the USA women play the USA men so we could see a double digit thrashing the likes of which might give them something else to complain about. The last time the women's team played any men it was a U-15 academy team and the teenage boys 14 and under defeated the best women's team in the world 5-2. Despite the fact that the USA men's team is not very good on a global scale, they would give the women's side a thrashing that would be seeing lots of pastel colored heads hung in shame and plenty of tears a flowing.

The point of all of this is that people, and especially people in the media with an agenda, are always going to find something to bitch about but the fact of the matter is that generally speaking, people all around the world do not care about the women's versions of these sports. The only reason why the college sport exists for a majority of the women's teams is because the universities are required to do so in something called Title IX.
ESPN is not featuring these images and interviews because very few people care about the games at all, let alone enough to go digging online for more stills and interviews. To be honest with you, I wouldn't even know the women's tournament was going on or who was involved in it if it weren't for this complainer article popping up in my news feed.
I'm sorry ladies, but the industry isn't not focusing on you because of some sort of patriarchal scheme to keep you out of the limelight. The industry isn't focusing on you because it isn't saleable, it doesn't make money, and at the end of the day that is what these tournaments, and basically all sports, are all about.
