What is keeping our environment clean?
Keeping our environment clean means removing dirt from around us.
Step 2
Types of dirt
- Pieces of paper
- Orange rind and peels from other fruits
- Dry leaves
- Rags
- Dust and mud
- Empty tins and bottles
- Empty cellophane bags
- Stagnant water
All these things make the environment dirty and unhealthy.

Ways of keeping the environment clean
We keep our environment clean by doing the following:
- Sweeping the floor
- Cleaning out the drain to prevent odour or stagnant water
- Cutting the grass
- Proper disposal of rubbish
- By cooperating with government health workers who also help to keep the environment clean.

- A broom
- A hard brush
- A rake
- Cutlass
- Dust pan
- Dust bin with a lid

Benefits of a clean environment
It makes the environment beautiful
It promotes good health
It makes the environment free from bad smell
It drives away germs and diseases.
