So many people are in a panic around me, fearing the worst and letting others just feed into that fear. Most people I have spoken to are really worried and highly stressed. I even let myself get caught up in it all for a little while. It is not the 'virus' that worried me, but more the restrictions that have been put in place and the real reason as to why they have been .

But lets look at this from a different point of view, instead of focusing on how unjust it is to have our freedom to move taken away from us, ( and yes there is so much more that goes along with it)lets look at what it means for others.

There are so many of us who were fortunate enough to be able to travel and move about as we please, with little to no implications. But there are also so many that are living in conditions that threaten their well being everyday, who are constantly under siege and who are unable to escape.

Perhaps now, those of us who are in lockdown, will become less judgemental of those who risk everything to flee their countries in the hope of having a better life. We mostly fear what we do not know or understand, this might just give us a small glimpse into what they have to go through on a daily basis.

It will hopefully also make us realize how fortunate we are to live the lives we do. To not take things for granted and to really look at what is most important in our lives. We can only buy the essentials now , the things we really need to survive. No more purchasing material things, to distract us from what is really happening in our lives and to those who live around us.

Now we have to face our Shit, as there is no escaping it. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to reflect and grow.

Mother Earth can finally get to catch her breath now, with less pollution in the air, there will be less smog in our skies. I am sure a lot of you have seen the photos of China before Corona Virus and now, with so many in Quarantine there is so much less tailpipe pollution and the skies are finally clear.

We all know, that we could not continue on as things were. That our impact on the earth was far too destructive. Yes this may have been forced on us, but we can choose how we see it. We can focus on our injustice within it all or we can see it as such a wonderful respite for nature.

Mother Earth deserves this time out, even if it is only a small one. She needs this time to breathe, just as we do.

Another really positive thing to come out of all of this Virus, is that Spain has cancelled 21 Bullfighting Events that were due to take place and because of this 120 bulls will be saved. I am so against any sport that uses animals, bullfighting has to be one of the cruelest out there and anything that can prevent it from taking place is positive in my eyes.

The last few nights I have stepped outside my truck and it has been so quite, usually I would hear vehicles in the distance, but there as been nothing. Just the silence that comes with nightfall and the intermittent sound of animals. It has been so peaceful.

It really is up to us all how we perceive things, I for one, am happy to have this stand still for a while. For things to ground to a halt. Yes things will get tough financially for some of us, but hopefully we will have the support of our communities, so that no one goes without.

I look forward to these next few weeks, putting my energy into the land, focusing on being more sustainable and breathing in cleaner air. Returning to what is most important, our connection to self. Remember we create are own stories, we choose now how we react to what is going on in the world.

To be healthier and more mindful. To open our hearts up, to being more empathic with others. To slowing down and observing and being grateful for all that we have.We have no control over what is imposed on us, but we can control how we react.
