Thousands of people from different parts of the country, irrespective of religion and caste, come to Sylhet every day to visit the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA). Many call Sylhet a holy land because of Shahjalal's touch. Hazrat Shahjalal (Rah :) is a famous saint and saint. He is called Olikul Shiromani. It was through him that Islam spread in the Sylhet region. Raja Gauragobind's persecution of the first Muslim Sheikh Burhan Uddin of Sylhet and the arrival of Hazrat Shahjalal (ra) and his traveling companion 360 Auliya in Sylhet is a significant event in history. There is a pond to the north of Shahjalal's shrine. There are innumerable carrot fish in this pond. These fish are considered sacred and are given to the small fish farms by the visitors. Carrot fish floating in the pond gives joy to the visitors.
Recognizing the spiritual power of Hazrat Shahjalal (ra), Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia (ra) welcomed him. As a token of affection, he gave her a pair of Surma colored pigeons or Jalali pigeons. The Surma-colored pigeons that are now seen in Sylhet and its environs are the descendants of that pair of pigeons and are known as Jalali pigeons. Pigeons are seen flying in flocks in Shahjalal's shrine area every day. There are many rumors about this pigeon in the minds of the people of Sylhet.
There is a well next to Shahjalal's shrine. The location of these coupesona and silver colored fish can be seen. Water is flowing day and night in this well. If you go to the west side of the shrine, you can see the fountain. Shower water is sold by filling bottles.
Inside the one-storey house on the east side of the shrine, there are three large stoves. These were donated by Mir Murad of Dhaka. The dishes are not cooked. Every day visitors donate a lot of money to the dekchis for the purpose of charity. To the south of the shrine is a small house inlaid with grilled stars. The place is only two feet wide. It is said that Hazrat Shahjalal spent 23 years of his life in worship in this shrine.
Hazrat Shahjalal's sword and clog are preserved in the house of Mufti Nazimuddin Ahmed next to the Dargah. Plates and bowls are preserved in the house of Motwali of the Dargah.
Hope everybody enjoys learning about my travels. Every year people from home and abroad come here to visit the shrine. Those of you who have not yet visited this shrine can visit the shrine if you wish. This shrine is a peaceful shrine. Lastly, my request is that you all go at least once.
Thanks for:-
