Agronomicals is the management of soil and the application of fertilizer and other materials in the production of crops.
Agronomy is the use of science and technology in growing and using plants by agriculture for food, fuel, fiber, chemicals, recreation, or land conservation.
There are many advantages and disadvantages of using agronomical in farming but I will limit myself to three for both the advantages and disadvantages.
Firstly, the use of tractors, cultivators, cultipackers, harrowers and harvesters. When the use machines became a reality in the world of agriculture,things changed for farmer especially pecifically their efficiency. This because for centuries mankind did farming by hand of by the use of horse's or cow but made little. But with technology it has made all this simpler. It saves time for other things and encourages farmers to into large scale farming. It also reduces the cost of production.
The use of irrigation systems to water our farms is one of the advantages of the use of science and technology in farming. This can eliminate the dependence on rain to water out crops. This prevents our plants from dying.
The application of synthetic fertilizers is one of the benefits of that has proved over the years that it is very useful in areas of low fertility. The application of fertiliser helps to promote crop yield by add to the soil nutrients.
The excessive use of chemicals on the farms will lead to loss fertility of the land. It then contribute to the problem of contamination of the soil as the Ph of the soil will increase which is suitable for crops to grow.it also leads to leaching which occurs and the fertilizers reach the rivers causing the gradual increase in the concentration of phosphorus, nitrogen, and other plant nutrients in an aging aquatic ecosystem.
The overuse of machines may lead to environmental damage. As the machines that are used are heavy it may lead soil erosion when there is overuse of these machines on our farms. It also leads to compactation of the soil, destruction of soil structure and also leads to environmental pollution.
Most of the farmers are illiterates so they are unable to use the modern machines. This a huge problem as they can not use such machines. It also lead to harmful elements in our food. It's also the main reason why the microorganisms in our soil dying and reducing the quality of the soil.
The best way to use of agrochemicals on farming to avoid contamination and lose of soil nutrients in the soil is to practice crop rotation on the farms. This will help to reduce the use of agrochemicals on the farms. This will help to regulate the use of these fertilizers as not all plants need them.
