In this post, I am going to share some important information about the marriage ceremony of Pushtoon culture. In Pashtoon culture, marriage are very important ceremony and is mainly arranged marriage. In an arranged marriage the parents of the bride and groom commit. Both of the families celebrate the ceremony. They wear special traditional dress. The groom wears Shirwani, Dastar, and Panre(shoes). The bride is also dressed in a shiny and colorful dress.
The wedding ceremony mostly runs for three days. On the first day, the participants play special music and do Atan(A traditional Afghani dance). The second day is known as the Junj day. On this day the bride is shifted to the groom's house. This is considered an important and enjoyable day. On the third day the third day of the wedding, the Waleema is managed. Different kind of foods is served to the participants of the ceremony.
The most interesting fact about the Pushtoon wedding ceremony is that males and females celebrate the ceremony separately. Like other cultures, in which the males and females jointly celebrate the wedding, the Pashtoon considers it unfair and unethical.
