From personal experience I find its best to learn the basics from places like these and then just try things. for example when i was starting my JS and PHP learning i tried to replicate a facebook from page which taught me alot about PHP and JS functions aswell as SQL datanases and more. you will learn more by practice than just trying to follow tutorials but its important you understand the basics so you can find where you have gone wrong
