The Debate (no.45); "Homework is a powerful practice for learning"

Hello friends,
We spent our school days doing homework. At the end of our school and tuition the teachers would give us many exercises related to the class reading which we had to do at home and show in the next class. I thank @sahmie for choosing such a title in his series of debate contests. Let's get into homework.

Do you think homework helps you remember what you learned at school?

Undoubtedly the topics my school teaches are stronger and the best way to practice is through homework. We can easily forget anything but more practiced subject or text we can master for a long time. In school we have a class of maximum 45 minutes to 60 minutes out of which 40 students don't fully understand so they have to practice at home to clear the topic or the mistakes can be solved in the next class. But if a student goes to practice at home without fully understanding it in class, he may get frustrated and it will be less effective for him. Homework will be exercises similar to what you have learned in class that will make a student more proficient in that topic.

How do you feel when you have a lot of homework?

Positive :If I can do the homework topic well it motivates me and I do it with pleasure.

Stress: Extra homework was annoying for me when I was a student because this homework did not allow me to focus on other tasks. When I come back from school to play I feel like if I play too long I'll be tired and fall asleep at night and miss my homework. Having extra homework would make it difficult for me to focus on other subjects and I felt like I was being punished by the extra homework.

Can you think of ways that homework could be made more useful or enjoyable?

Of course, I think homework is an important step in learning. Homework can be varied to make students positive so that teachers are non-judgmental and interested in homework. Different things can be done to make homework enjoyable for students.

Choosing homework according to the topic taught in class so that students are not pressured to complete the assignment alone. Homework can be added to practical rather than just theoretical to break their boredom. Considering the value of homework with a small amount rather than overdoing it will allow students time to study more than one subject. An important step in homework can be discussion based homework. Students form a team. It will be good for weak learners as they can learn from their classmates about what they do not know.
