There was a 17-year-old boy who was never content with what his parents provided. He abandoned his education, calling it a "scam," and succumbed to a life of gambling.
His addiction consumed him, driving him to steal from others to fund his habit. Despite being caught and warned multiple times, he ignored the consequences. The warnings were clear, "If you continue, you'll pay with your life."

On a fateful November evening in 2024, I returned from work around 9 pm to find a crowd gathering. As I pushed through the onlookers, I was met with a shocking sight, the young boy lay helpless on the ground, his knee badly damaged from being hit by a car.

In a desperate bid to escape with stolen cash, he had run into the path of the oncoming vehicle. The crowd's chants echoed through the air: "He deserves it, he deserves it!!!! This is the reward for living a dubious life."
Hmmm, it was sad to witness this kind of incident. The boy's leg started swelling and the pain he felt was intensed, because there was nobody that could help him. Even when the parents arrived at the scene later on, they refused to take him to the hospital. He died after an hour of going through severe pains😢
As I continued my journey from Big Junction to my aunt's house opposite the Custom Office at Mbiabong Etoi, I witnessed another incident. This time, it was an elderly man who had spent his life consumed by alcohol and smoking, despite warnings from loved ones.

I found him lying on the ground, hit by a car, with a wounded forehead. Fortunately, he survived as his head didn't hit the tarred road too hard. His wife appeared, but instead of helping him, she left him there. It was a kind stranger, a dry cleaner from behind my aunt's house, who took the man to the clinic that night.
The next morning, I learned that the man had lost his memory, unable to recall anything. It was a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of a life of reckless habits. The crowd's chants from earlier echoed in my mind: "He deserves it, he deserves it! This is the reward for living a dubious life."

Crazy things are happening. It is always pathetic to lose a loved one to the wrong course of life. Despite the warnings the young boy received he continued in his wrong conduct which will forever paint his image black even as he is dead.
