Greetings, friends. How are you today? I believe you are all fine as I am. I thank @zisha-hafiz for organising this beautiful contest. Today, I have beautifully crafted a butterfly on a frame and I believe everyone will like it.

What is a butterfly
The butterfly is a flying insect with large coloured wings and a small body. Butterflies have a short life span. They live for about one week or two but some species live for months and then die. They feed mostly on fruits like pears, bananas etc.

Importance of butterfly
They are an agent of pollination
They are a source of food for other animals like lizards, birds, etc.

Materials Used For The Craft

  • Waste Carton
  • Black embossed paper
  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Acrylic colours
  • Brush
  • Ruler
  • Evostik gum.

Step 1
I began the construction from the frame. I measured a square shape of 13 inches by 13 inches on a waste carton and then cut it out using a paper cutter. I also cut a 1- Inches by the 13-inch carton and gummed it at the edges of the square carton using Evo-Stik gum.

Step 2
I seal the edges of the frame with masking tape and then paint the entire frame with a white acrylic colour.

Step 3
I cut a black embossed paper to be 0.3 inches and then gummed it at the edges of the frame.

Step 4
At this step, I fold an A4 size of black embossed paper into two in the middle. I then draw half of a butterfly.

Step 5
I used a paper cutter to cut the butterfly as shown below.

Step 6
I drew a pattern on one side of the butterfly using a pencil.

Step 7
I used a white acrylic colour to put dots at the edge of half of the butterfly. I also drew a pattern with a yellow acrylic colour at the half of the forewing. I then close the butterfly and open it. All the pattern on one side of the butterfly was transferred to the other

Step 8
I once again drew the pattern on the hind wing using a yellow colour. I closed the butterfly and opened it. At this point, the pattern also appears on the other side.

Step 9
I used a red acrylic colour on one side of the butterfly. I then closed and opened it.

Step 10
Finally, I traced the head; thorax, and abdomen of the butterfly in white colour. I also indicate the eyes.
