Hello friends welcome to my blog

Tell us the incident that happened to you or others or that you heard

I have a little niece, beautiful and intelligent; the last time I saw her, she was very young, and she barely spoke fluently because she was still a baby. So I visited them recently she has grown and can say what anybody can understand. I spent time with her and loved how intelligent she was.

One day, while I was still with them, her mother was not around, and I was to prepare lunch. So I began my cooking. I had to prepare spaghetti. I looked for tomato paste, and she was in the kitchen with me. After some minutes of my search, she asked me, "Aunty, are you looking for tomato paste"? I replied yes, and she pointed at a carton up the kitchen cabinet. I found the tomato paste there and looked at her in shock when I found it.

Her presence in the kitchen became of importance to me as she showed me where other ingredients were kept, and it made my cooking easy. When her mum returned, I told her about my experience with her daughter in the kitchen. She was also surprised and never Knew her daughter knew where she kept things in the Kitchen.

The impact it had on you (that is; what it made you to reflect on and what you learnt from it. For example; you can learn to be humble from the story of the fall of a proud man)

The impact of my story is to behave properly in the presence of children because they observe and imitate. Carry them along in your routine at home; whatever they learn at this young stage of life shapes their life for the future. Even the bible says to train up a child the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Children are fast learners not just in school but also at home carry them along in your domestic chores. They watch whatever we do, that is why most times we do not need to tell them anything before they copy us. Parents, guardians, teachers and adults now must do things right for them to imitate, and importantly be mindful of the words you use in their presence because they will also learn that too, not knowing if it's wrong or right, as they believe with their innocent minds that whatever an adult does or say is right.

What do you intend to do with what you learnt or reflected on and how did you apply it or would apply it to your life or teach it to others.

I would advise parents to give children around them the chance to take part in house chores by engaging them in simple tasks and giving them a safe and secure environment since they are ready to learn. Also, teach them how things work around the house by showing them and not just by telling them. Because they will be of help in your absence just like my niece. These will help build them to be better people in society.

In general, we should be good people as adults. You never can tell if a child is somewhere watching without your knowledge, just as my niece knows where her mother keeps her cooking ingredients without her mother's knowledge that someone has been observing all she does in the kitchen.
