I'm a biochemistry students, and this picture here was captured the months I did my Industrial training in Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo state. FUTA happens to be one of the best Technology school in Africa.
Today I learnt so many things and part of it would be:

The control panel.
When most of us are sick, we go to the hospital right? And when we get there, the doctor will check our body and then provide the antidote in form of drugs right? He will also prescribed the drugs to us, so that we won't harm ourselves with it right? Now, if we finish taken that one and the problem still persists, he will look for an alternative. There's what we called the control panel.
Take a look at the images, you will see something like plate. It's not call plate. It's called petri dish for growing micro-organismes. There are four unit if you look at closely. And there's also a center known as the control panel.
Back then, when your problem persist, you'll be asked to visit any herbal home for consultations. But now, everything has been advanced. You will go to the hospital or your local chemist and you'll see more than 4 different drops with different names all doing the same work. But their rate of operation when it comes to healing system may not be the same. Some may be 100%, while some 50% or 20%.
Now, this is what happen.
We will get up to four different plant.
Homogenize (grind) it properly and then add Distill Water for it to dissolve well. After 30 to 60 minutes interval, we will extract the supernatant and discard the precipitate or sediment or residue (this are microbiological languages). Now, we will use the pasteur pipette or dropper to introduce each of the supernatant to their various areas in the petri dish.

The control panel will contain either any of the drugs we want to test for alternative. For instance, if we want to provide substitute to Paracetamol, we will dissolve the paracetamol in water and then use the dropper to introduce it to the control panel.
After this, we will then incubate the petri dish containing the samples above for like 24 hours. After this duration, bring it out and read the result.

This is the area not affected by the control panel.
From the above illustration, the part affected by the control panel which contain paracetamol tablet is highly reactive and seems to serve as an alternative. While the Non-clear zone indicate zero-ability. With this, scientist would then work with the qualify plant to generate a tablet from it. And then, define the percentage at which it can work.
This can only be used as a substitute in the absent of paracetamol drug.
