Tell us the incident that happened to you or others or that you heard
This is a true life story about someone that I know very well her story has taught me a lot. Lydia is a girl who is loved by her parents for her brilliance and her way of life. She is a beautiful girl whom everyone admires so much. Lydia finished secondary school at a very young age and her parents thought it wise to send her to the university so she would become a graduate at a very young age as she was academically sound.
They bought a JAMB form for Lydia which she sat for the examination and passed very well. Although Lydia wished to study nursing science at the university, she was admitted into medical laboratory science and her parents told her to accept the admission offer as it is a nice course with a a high rate of job employment.
She accepted the admission offer and went to the university. During her first year and second year in the university, her results were perfectly okay as she was nominated as the top 3 best students in her department. This alone makes her parents to be so happy and proud of Lydia.
As Lydia got to the third year (300 level) her academic performance dropped below what she got in her 100 and,200 levels because of the kind of people she started following as friends. She went and became friends with unserious students whom what they know how to do best is to go party. The lifestyle of her friends influenced her so much and affected her academic performance.
For Lydia not to graduate with poor grades, she cut off from her friends and repeated her 3r year in school so she could make her parents proud of her.
The impact it had on you and what you learned from it.
The story of Lydia left me with very strong lessons which are what I learned from the story of Lydia.
I learned how to stay focused on chasing my dream or whatever I am doing in life to achieve a positive result.
I learned how to cut away with friends that dragged me backward in life.
I learned how to admit my mistake in life and move.
I learned how to build trust etc.
