Do you think everyone has the same chance to do well on standardized tests? Why or why not?

Standardised test is a test put in place by the school to check the understanding of the students based on what they have been taught so far. In my opinion I don't think everyone has the same chance to do well in such a test and the reason is not far fetched.

In every class settings, students within the class don't seems to have same level of understanding and retention and for that reason their performance in the test administered by the teacher must varies.

Some peraons are good in reading, writing and passing exams whereas others may take.more time to comprehend the same article and for that reason, it is difficult or impossible for them all to perform thesame.

How do you think a student's background or environment affects their test scores?

The background of a students as well as the environment affect the score of the students in the sense that, if you come from a background where you don't get the chance to read your because of the many activities you do after school you won't perform well in your test.

Also if your environment is not the one that encourages reading and retention then it will also be difficult for you to be able to score well in your test. Take for instance a noisy environment which will not allow you to read and comprehend.

So when your family background is not good or is poor because you need to hustle daily for your daily needs and it is also noisy then it is difficult to have time for your studies and even if you have you won't be able to perform well as you should if you have your time to study more.

Are there other ways to measure intelligence besides standardized tests? What are they?

Yes, in my opinion exams or test is not the true test of knowledge hence people may be checked based on what they can do practically or in presentation of the things they have learnt.

There are many persons who today we see pass exams or their tests very well but if you approach them at any point and time you will discover that they can not deliver effectively and this is not the type knowledge we need here.

So in my opinion people should be tested based on what they can be able to present to others. When you have the knowledge you should be able to share it with others and that is what makes you educated.

Do you believe that test anxiety can impact a student's performance? How so?

Yes, test anxiety can impact students performance very well. In cases where the student is already scared of the course because he or she was told that the teacher is always strict and his questions are always difficult then the student becomes anxious and he or she will be come confused or what exactly to read as a student.

Seeing the question alone can cause the student to become furious and unease and that can cause him or her to forget some of the things he or Shea has read initially. So this is why I say anxiety has much impact on the performance of the student.

Can intelligence be defined in different ways, and how does that relate to standardized testing?

Intelligence can be defined in different ways and in my opinion to be intelligent means that you can be able to share an idea or knowledge you posses with others.

If you know it then you should be able to share it with others. The essence of this is so that the knowledge will circulate. So when an intelligent person who knows it decide to take part in standardised test you will see that the person will firmly pass the prescribed test very well and that is the reasons why intelligent agrees with the standardised test.

I want to invite @josepha, @simonnwigwe, and @bonaventure24, to join the contest in this community and share their entry participation.

Your insights are very insightful and touch on some critical aspects of measuring intelligence and learning outcomes

This can affect their study time, meaning that even students who are otherwise bright may struggle to perform well on standardized tests. Factors such as economic circumstances, language spoken at home, and exposure to literacy in the environment also influence their performance.
