Hello guys,

Before we go ahead I would like to invite @josepha, @dave-hanny, and @mesola to join this contest in this community today and share their participation as well, I do hope to see and read your entries as well.

Immediately I came back from work, I decided to go in and freshen up because it has been a very hectic day for me. As you can see my work doesn't allow me post regularly as usual any longer so for that reason I skip some days of posting.

Coming back home yeaterday I was so tired and I decided to take my bath and then rest for the day because I had no intention of writing either. So after eating I sat on my bed and I heard shout from outside I was wondering what was happening so I came out.

To my shock I saw that almost everyone around my area was outside and they were gazing towards a certain direction when I went to inquire the issues the said unknown gun men are attacking a certain house while talking we heard gunshots and those who were close by ran towards us and we too ran downward because we didn't know what was chasing them.

I was so scared because that was the first time I'm having such an experience. They people continued shooting for almost 10-15 minutes before they left the place because.

We couldn't come to the house until after about 1 hour time when the military came around to calm the entire situation. We were all scared and filled with shock on the happening so we couldn't go back inside to sleep because we don't even know if the guys will come back again.

So we stayed outside for the whole of the night keeping watch along side the security men there. From a reliable source we heard that those guys that came were kidnappers and they came to kidnap the wife of the former chairman of the place I was staying.

The goodnews was that they didn't succeed in the operation but they security men guiding the house sustained sum injuries so they were rushed to the specialist hospital that same night because they lost a lot of blood.

The joy was that no one died in the shoot out but their was much causality on ground. So it was a shock to me since it was the first time I was having such an experience. I hope such a incident doesn't repeat itself again anytime soon.

Lesson learnt

From the above event, I learnt to be more careful in the area I stay and always be on alert. If I came back late I could have been a victim because we heard people were shot especially those passing through that period during the operation.

Also it is good to be acquainted with the people around your community so that if there is anything happening they can easily alert you. It was a neighbour of mine who called my attention that night because I was almost sleeping when the entire drama started.
