Tell us the incident that happened to you or others or that you heard

So my own story was a case of betrayal. In my 100level in the University, when I recently got admission into the University. We formed this clique of friends, all girls. We usually go to Classes together, anyone that comes to the Class first usually keeps seat for others and also do other stuff together. It happened that they was a time I quarreled with one of my girls named Delight.

We stopped talking to each other. Being the type of person that doesn't keep malice, I asked one of them named Favour if Delight the girl I was quarreling with told her anything but she said no, so I told her everything that happened and pleaded with her to find out from the girl what the issue was but I noticed that after that day. All the girls stopped talking to me. Oneday, I summoned up courage and approached them and asked while everyone was giving me silent treatment even though it was with Delight that I had issues with.

One of them opened up and told me that Favour said that I said that I don't value their friendship and that I don't want to be friends with them again. They said lots of things that the girl said about me. I was so surprised, the level someone can go just to tarnish another person's image. The good thing is that I reconciled with my friends and Favour that betrayed me later left our clique after 100Level.

The impact it had on you (that is; what it made you to reflect on and what you learnt from it.

Well I learnt that human beings are not to be trusted including friends.

I also learnt that when you're keeping malice with someone be the bigger person, and apologize first despite who is at fault.

What do you intend to do with what you learnt or reflected on and how did you apply it or would apply it to your life or teach it to others.
Do not limit yourself to these points, be free to express all in your mind.

Currently in my dealing with people, I don't trust people wholeheartedly and this has saved me from lots of hurts and heartbreak. Also when I have issues with people, I sort it out with the person without involving third party. I would also teach people that it's better to keep few friends like 4 or 5 that are your real friends than having so many friends who will laugh with you in your front and backbite you at your back.

In, conclusion friendship is unique and important but we should be careful with the type of friends we keep. Thanks for reading my post, I invite @akareen, @aspiya and @bela90 to participate in this contest.
