Riches vs Happiness

Riches is a state of abundance of resources. Resources such as money, possession or assets. These abundant resources often provide comfort, luxury and financial security.

Happiness is a state of being satisfied, joyful and happy with ones life. It allows you enjoy the present moment and calmly look forward towards other things appreciating what's available at the moment.

Having a lot of money is good, it offers you the opportunity to get whatever is required for your comfort, however happiness stems from a place of contentment, appreciating value, experiencing love to name a few.

I think Happiness is better than Riches. A happy person is not necessarily a poor person, but one who knows how well to navigate life and enjoy it with what's available not going after what's others and staying at peace with oneself.
A few points to explain my points:

Security

A rich person has more worry about security than a person who's less wealthy and happy. It's rare to see someone who has a very wealthy relation move freely (maybe take a stroll) on the road without a sense of fear. There's always a constant reason to attach security personnel or restrict movement. These things a quite normal happy person achieves with ease.

Comfort

It's true that riches can buy things that are required for comfort. It brings access to good education, healthcare, living conditions. However, people who grow in an environment where there's a lot of love, no ill wish or sentiment, support from friends and family end up leaving a little above the average and also live comfortably.

Happiness is long lasting

A person who gains wealth in an ill manner is most likely going to do all in their power to control resources as they believe they can easily loose what wasn't theirs to start with. It leaves them with a constant pursuit of acquiring the next thing and a little time to celebrate an achievement as there's always a need to love to the next. True happiness is sustained for longer periods as one gets to appreciate every time.

Riches can't buy everything

Money might buy possessions but it cannot buy true love, friendship, experiences. These aspects of life often brings great joy and fulfillment.

Happiness promotes success

While we try to achieve greater things, a person who's enjoying what he is doing and is doing it from a place of passion gets motivated, productive and creative. This leading to growth and success in various areas.

Conclusion

Having financial resources can enhance certain aspects of life but genuine happiness is not dependent on material wealth. Striving for a balance is good as people need access to good living conditions, healthcare, education, happiness often creates the best situation for equity and it brings into factor humanity.

Hello friend @ triple-a, I wish you well with your loved ones.

You are very right in your lines. Money can improve the quality of life but it is not the most important source of happiness. Love, inner peace, personal fulfillment, are some aspects that cannot be bought with money.

Thanks for the invitation, I wish you success and prosperity.

Hey! I do second you at most of the places.
Money is somehow very important to fulfill our needs, with money we can buy almost all the things and achieve all the necessities of life, but hence it is said the abundance of anything has a cost. We should maintain balance in our lives.
All the best for the contest.
