The Debate (no:24): Unlimited Wealth Vs Unlimited Knowledge

Unlimited can be defined as a situation whereby something is excess or surplus. It can also mean when something is not bounded or limited by one thing or the other and is sufficient.

So, Unlimited wealth is therefore a situation whereby there is excess of wealth. Personally, I think wealth isn't all about physical money but the assets and monetary values attached to one's name. Unlimited wealth is about having excess that one is not financially limited or incapacitated.

Unlimited knowledge is almost not possible because I doubt the possibility of one knowing everything. I feel we can only know according to our level of exposure to knowledge. Unlimited knowledge is therefore a situation whereby one has excess knowledge and is not handicapped in any knowledgeable aspect of life.

I'll definitely choose unlimited wealth over knowledge due to a lot of reasons but I'll only state some.

Firstly, unlimited knowledge is almost not realistic because you can never know it all, and if you do not have certain influence your knowledge will not be as relevant as you think. There are more knowledgeable people that are not privileged to be known or even heard, but it's very rare to see a wealthy person that is not popular. The money and affluence will always speak for the person but this is not so for a knowledgeable person because a knowledgeable person needs an established ground to prove his level of intelligence.

Secondly , In this world today, a person of substance is held with so much more value than a person of knowledge, because even in the society we need people who will be of financial value to us and not a person that will be of knowledgeable value, if the knowledge is there and the finance is not there the Knowledge maybe of little or no use because there will be no money to fund the ideas. A wealthy person will definitely use the money to buy ideas and fund it because the resources are unlimited. From a stand point of sincerity a wealthy person is of greater important and of greater impact to the society than a knowledgeable person.

Thirdly, Since unlimited knowledge is more like something abstract, in the sense that we can't see it, we only feel people are knowledgeable from their records or from their exhibition, but wealth isn't like this, a wealthy person is seen and recognized easily and accorded the necessary respect unlike a knowledgeable person. This is also an added advantage of wealth over knowledge.

Wealthy people can contribute more to our growth than a knowledgeable person, this is because most knowledge and ideas still require finances to bring it to reality, without money our knowledge will be as good as it never existed.

With unlimited wealth, we can achieve as much knowledge as we need because we can enroll in whatever school of our choice and even online tutorial and thereby improve our knowledge but with unlimited knowledge there's no guarantee that we can acquire as much wealth as we want.

I hope I have been able to convince us that unlimited wealth is of more value than unlimited knowledge.
