Summer Season vs Winter Season, which one is your favorite season & why? |

Winter and Summer are common names that represent the two major weather conditions in parts of the European/Western world. What we have down here in Africa, especially in West African countries is something similar to that but named differently.
We have the Rainy and Dry/Harmattan Seasons which are common terms here. The rainy seasons are periods of likely large rainfalls from April to September. Whereas we see the dry or harmattan season trickling in October and running all through the festive period down to February.
I may not be too aligned with any of them or have a favorite as the case may be as none of them can predicted. They all come with their inconveniences and excesses that bring some level of discomfort. We have to be intentional about how prepare for them.
During the Rainy season, we all enjoy the cool weather and peaceful night rest it brings especially when it rains at night while in bed. It is the best season for all farmers as it is a time to cultivate and make more yields.
On the other hand, people become weary of so much wetness and crave dry land. Dry seasons are usually predictable times when one leaves the house and knows it isn't going to rain disrupting work activities. Road construction staff crave this season to speed up their road construction activities. The harmattan that comes with it is also adorable for those who enjoy cold and nonrainy seasons.

Advantages of Both Seasons
The rainy season is usually regarded as the farming season. Best time for farmers to increase their yields.
- Rainy brings some control on the temperature levels especially for us in the tropical region where sun rays are high and up to 45°c.
- Dry seasons are road construction workers' best periods to speed up their road activities without rainfall disruptions.
- Dry seasons especially the harmattan period are the best times to effectively manage laundry and personal hygiene. We have less contact with dirt.

Disadvantages of Both Seasons
Rainy seasons especially of late have brought about untold hardship to riverine areas. There are huge flood levels that cause humanitarian assistance.
Rainy season brings about task and work disruptions due to the inability to access some work areas during or after rainfalls.
Rainy season inhibit road construction and other major outdoor constructions.
Dry seasons especially with nonhaze or harmattan presence come with a lot of sleeping discomfort due to the high temperature levels.
While the harmattan periods of the der season come with a lot of airborne diseases like cold, catarrh, and Apolo (conjunctivitis).
More likely fire outbreaks are common during the dry seasons.

Thank you for the invite my friend..tried to respond earlier but since I travelled to my home town for Christmas, the network over there withstood me but am here now.
You must be really different not to have a favorite season for me I do not like the dry or harmattan season, what we are experiencing right now. It comes with so much dust and cold that disturbs my peace. Am even feeling symptoms already.
