Day 7 ~ December NO SUGAR Challenge

Hey all!

Day 7 done, starting day 8!

Feeling pretty good.

Still trying to find a good tea.
They’re all great with sugar!
Without the sugar, it’s gonna have to be pretty special. Maybe I’ll make my own blend instead 🙂
Tried some echinacea this morning for more flavour, and to help with the crud in my throat. It was better than the rooibos, which has a faint chia flavour, I’m not a chia fan.

I have been going through some crappy life stuff lately so I’ve really been wanting to turn to junk for comfort. Knowing that won’t help, I instead meditated, medicated (cannabis) and went to bed early.

Sometimes we feel pain from things for a long time. You’d think it should be gone by now but still it aches.
Let it ache.
Lean into it.
Allow it, for its entirety, and let it go.

I used to both consciously and unconsciously stuff my emotions down deep. It was my go-to coping mechanism. The bigger the issue the easier it was ignored. I’ve been working through like 30 years of horrible stuffed emotions over the past year, and I can tell you now, releasing that anguish has been horrific at times. Physically painful and exhausting. I’m not one to freely allow emotions. But every time I’m able to get rid of more, I feel lighter, happier, more alive and almost like I levelled up my brain.

It’s amazing what we can do when we let go and start to become truly present in our own lives.
I sill have a long road to true balance of heart and mind, but I’ll continue to strive to do better, to be better, to feel better.

Cutting sugar has helped me avoid empty calories while having my personal pity party. Not to make light of it, though perhaps it’s good to. Having feelings isn’t wrong. It’s not bad. It’s normal and healthy. Ignoring them just makes the feelings come out in other ways. Learning to release them is the hard part, but worth the effort. 🙂

December is the perfect month for this, I’ve already cut most junk out of my life, so resisting in the most tempting month, (though Halloween might be more tempting 😆🤔) is making me feel more in control of myself and my life, and healing things I didn’t know were damaged ❤️
