Assalamualaikum

I hope so you all are doing well and enjoying your life specially Ramadan Mubarak. Keep enjoying may god bless you all. Now I'm here to share my best or most favorite iftar recipe in Ramadan. So let's start......

Now I'm hostalized so there are only freezred foods are available for iftari. But before this Ramadan when I was at home, my mother used to make daily new recipe on iftari. Out of those recipes the best tasting and most favorite one is chana chat made with tamarind. It consist of very simple and cheap or easily available ingredients. The ingredients include... Chana, tamarind, tomatoes, onions, pepper, chat spice etc.

First of all the chana is boiled properly. Because It is the main ingredient and it should be a perfect ingredient even after boiling it. Then the second main ingredient i.e the tamarind is kept in water for approximately half hour. Then it is removed from water by rubbing so that all of its flavor is excluded and mixed with that water while the quantity of water is kept low according to other ingredients' quantity.

Then the less common ingredients i.e the tomatoes, onions and peppers are cut into small pieces according to the recipe. Now approximately all the ingredients are ready. Sometime my mother also use boiled potatoes in the chat which gives a different look and taste. Now after preparation of all ingredients they are to be mixed.

First of all the boiled chana and potatoes if used are mixed with the water that contains the flavor of tamarind. As these things are mixed up with each other then other remaining things including tomatoes, onions and peppers are added to it. Then the chat spice is also added to it according to taste or spice we need. It gives a fantastic taste to recipe. At the end the mint cut into small pieces is added on the top layer. It also provide a decorative look and also gives a new taste. Now the tamarind chana chat is ready.
