Whether it is through history, visual arts or ways of behavior, traditional Japanese culture can truly be said to be its garden of heritage. One of the components of such appreciation is the reverence shown to nature evident in the practices of flower arranging- ikebana and the sculpturing of plants- bonsai. These traditions show tranquility, symmetry, and ephemerality in essence, the cycle of nature, demonstrating the four seasons.

Another representative feature is chanoyu, or tea ceremony. This does not only entertain those who would like to drink tea but seeks to engage participants in active and focused networking as they prepare and enjoy matcha. Standard practices of the ceremony are characterized by asceticism or restraint and calm and reveal the beauty present in simple and routine activities.

“Japanese matsuri,” or festivals, only serve to spice up the remains of the general picture. Full of lovely garments, melodies and regional cuisine, these occasions attract people and celebrate seasonal or some historical events.

Similarly, traditional arts and crafts, especially ceramic art, calligraphy, and weaving kimonos are great constituents that help protect the traditions of that culture. All crafts are pieces of culture which have evolved through time mastering the intricacies and creativity of Japanese people.

Engagement with such patterns as traditional culture of Japan illuminates more core beliefs and aesthetic principles of the culture.
