Through the busy life of a garden, the garden lizard is a beautiful reptile worth attention due to the more or less complex modifications of the scales and other modes of adaptation. This diminutive lizard, usually in sun-baked rocks or sprints here and there among leaves is indeed one of the best masterpieces of nature.

The scales of the garden lizard more elaborately crafted and patterned are quite delicate and are certainly used for both protection and dedication. These particular scales also differ in colors – dull brown or bright green and thus the lizard is able to hide. Such coloration is important in escaping enemies and catching food.

Also, garden lizards have a relative benefit to the ecological system, apart from their physical characteristics. Previously they were insectivorous; now, they catch a variety of pests that are harmful to the plants and hence to the agricultural systems. Because of this, lizards are beneficial in the gardens since they control the use of chemical insecticides to an extent without harming the natural balance.

The life of a garden lizard in a natural habitat offers great prospects in terms of the intricate relationship between the hunter and the hunted, the camouflage and its importance in survival. The appeal to its scales as well as its ecological importance explains the reason why these domestic creatures are underappreciated yet essential in the gardens’ ecosystem.
