The Czech Republic began their World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign with a confident 6-2 win over Estonia, with Tomas Souček notching a hat-trick.
Last year Jaroslav Shylhavyi's team made a successful appearance in the League of Nations, winning a place in the elite division. In their group they were ahead of Scotland, Israel and Slovakia.

In Belgium, Eden Hazard, Hendrik Van Crombrügge, Zinho Vanheusden, Elias Cobbaut and Axel Witsel were left out due to injuries.
The Red Devils also played well in the Nations League, reaching the final of the tournament. They finished above Denmark, England and Iceland in their group.
