Czech Republic
The Czech Republic began their World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign with a confident 6-2 win over Estonia, with Tomas Souček notching a hat-trick.

Last year Jaroslav Shylhavyi's team made a successful appearance in the League of Nations, winning a place in the elite division. In their group they were ahead of Scotland, Israel and Slovakia.
It is noteworthy that the Czechs lost twice to the Scots (1:2 and 0:1). Another defeat they suffered in a friendly with the Germans (0:1). In other matches there were only victories.

Ondřej Kolarž, Tomas Kalas, Alex Kral and Petr Ševcik can't play for the Czech national team because of injuries.

Belgium
Belgium got a 3-1 home win over Wales in the first round of qualifying thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Torgan Azar and Romelu Lukaku.

Roberto Martinez's men suffered their only defeat in 2020 at the hands of the English (1:2). There was also a draw against Cote d'Ivoire (1-1) in a friendly match, and otherwise there were only victories.

In Belgium, Eden Hazard, Hendrik Van Crombrügge, Zinho Vanheusden, Elias Cobbaut and Axel Witsel were left out due to injuries.

The Red Devils also played well in the Nations League, reaching the final of the tournament. They finished above Denmark, England and Iceland in their group.
