Barcelona has added Memphis Depay to their squad. From Lyon, the Dutch forward would arrive as a free agent. Along with Sergio Aguero, he is Barcelona's second forward signing this summer. Given that he was one of the players individually approached by head coach Ronald Koeman, it's clear that he'll play a significant role in the team.
After a terrible spell with Manchester United in England, he has had a fantastic season with Lyon. In the French league and with the Dutch national team, he was able to show off his actual potential and talent. His recent performances have been remarkable, and there's no doubt that he was and continues to be a significant player for Lyon and the Netherlands.
ROLE AND POSITIONING
Depay is a player with a lot of energy. His positioning and playing style allow him to play in a role and position on the field. Despite the fact that he enjoys covering broad parts of the field, I believe we can reasonably infer that he prefers to play on the left side. When it comes to moving up and down the pitch, he is highly mobile. He frequently drops deep to receive the ball and carry it forward, rather than playing high up the pitch.
Depay has recently been used as a left forward in a two-man frontline. He played left striker for Lyon in a 3-4-1-2 formation, but now plays left striker for Netherlands in a 5-3-2 formation. Both of these systems are highly dynamic, unlike a 4-3-3 formation, they do not rely on traditional attackers or wingers in these type of formation.

Looking at Depay's stats from previous season, it's clear that he can easily switch roles. He has the ability to score a good quantity of goals. In 2020-21, he scored 24 goals in all competitions for Lyon.
His contributions go beyond scoring goals. He enjoys being a part of the build-up. He frequently drops back to collect the ball. In 2020-21 season with Lyon, he had 12 assists and consistently created goalscoring chances. On the ball, he is extremely skilled and dribbles past opponents with ease. It allows him to carry the ball from his own half into the final third.
GOALSCORING
Depay isn't a prolific goalscorer, but he can help us score 15 to 20 goals. His goal-scoring skill was evident during his tenure at Lyon. As previously stated, he has scored 24 times in 2020-21.
Depay is a significant option going forward, despite not being a natural striker who would play the targetman role. He can score goals from a variety of angles and distances, which might be essential for the team progress.
PLAYMAKING AND CREATIVITY
Depay makes up for his goal-scoring deficiencies with his playmaking. Depay has a keen eye for passes, and he uses his vision to locate teammates. Last season, he had 12 assists for Lyon
He has a wide range of passing abilities. He is capable of making both short and long passes and prefers to move the ball forward. He's good at delivering set-pieces, thus he can help out in corners and freekicks.
Depay's ability to make various passes would be a valuable advantage. His inventiveness may be able to relieve some of Messi's pressure. We haven't had a creative player on the left flank in the past several seasons, and with his addition, we may expect better playmaking on that side.

Good afternoon sir, the issue is this.. I have been searching for Depay copyright free image but I didn't see the one where he put on Barcelona jersey.
That was why I downloaded this one that I use and I made sure the source was properly cited.
