Hi, football fans
It is an honour to bring you my membership validation to be part of this community. Football is a way of life for some of us as we put all our emotions and heart into the game which has granted as much joy in our lives. Specials thanks to @njaywan and the moderators of this community for their tireless effort to make this community and its subscribers thrive on Steemit. It is a wonderful initiative by the admin to help the Subscribers pass-through this initiation to become a member while guiding us to make better and quality posts in this esteemed community and Steemit as a whole.
Since this community is basically for football-related posts, I will be posting my pre-match and post-match reviews, current transfer news, current trends and affairs in football, tactical analysis of a match, shocking injuries, records made in football, history of some legends, the come-up of stars in the game, the lifestyle of certain players off the field and the payouts they receive from their clubs with some memorable moments in football. As a football lover and a diehard fan of Chelsea Football Club be expecting more Chelsea-related news from me with the vibes from the English Premier League (EPL) table.
I will also be seriously participating in all the contests in this lovely community especially with the newly initiated contest on fantasy football as I am very good at predictions in football.
The word "content" in this context refers to creations by an individual in a form of posts, write-ups, or presentations. Etiquette also refers to the rules and regulations that govern a society or an object or a situation. By combining the two words we can say content etiquettes are the rules and regulations that govern the making of the content or a write-up. Content etiquette on Steemit is held in high esteem as contents put on the platform must follow all the rules and regulations set up by the platform especially; the avoidance of plagiarism in our posts and abusive use of words on the platform.
Plagiarism, as stated in my achievement 3 post, is the situation presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, and by putting it into your work without full acknowledgment. Plagiarism comes in my forms as stated in my achievement post. Plagiarism is like biggest sin one can ever commit on Steemit so it is in the best interest of all Steemians to desist from such an act.
Plagiarism is something I have always stay away on my stay on the Steemit platform. I have always refrained from it by writing an original post and whenever I use another person's work in my post, I always make sure they are givem the highest form of acknowledgment and praise for their works. Whenever pictures used in my work were not taken by myself, I make sure the source from which the pictures were taken is given the needed reference to their work.
The word "copyright" is the legal authority given to owners on their work such as music, write-ups, and pictures to prevent others from plagiarising or copying their work. The word "abuse" also implies the unauthorized or improper use of someone's work in this context. So copyright abuse simply means the unauthorized use of someone's work with the person's consent or acknowledgment. And this kind of act is punishable by fine or sometimes even imprisonment in such country so it is an advise to stay off from works with copyright licenses as they can land you in jail.
Since most football-related images are copyright licensed and people are mostly sanctioned for their usage without permission, It is in the best interest of Steemians on this platform to use copyright-free images provided by the following platforms:
Thanks to @njaywan, most of these platforms were given in his complete guide on how and where to obtain copyright-free images post, making it easy to get copyright-free images with ease.
The following steps should be taken when you want to properly cite an image and show its license detail;
- Step 1
You type the name of the material you want for the image.
- Step 2
You then click on the images tab among the upper tabs.
- Step 3
You then click on the menu button to bring out the sub-menu
- Step 4
You then click on the Usage Rights to open the sub-menu then you select Creative Commons licenses to show the copyright-free images
- Step 5
You then select your preferred free image from the shown-up images.
- Step 6
You then press on the image a while to release the options, then you press download to save the picture.
- Step 7
With your preferred image downloaded, you then press on the description under the image to open the image to full-page and you click on the URL to copy the image's address or source.
- Step 8
To get the license details, you then scroll down the page to where the licensing is typed and you click on the link
- Step 9
When the link is clicked, the license page will open then you copy its URL
Step 10
After uploading your free image into the Steemit editor, you then apply the link markdown to reference your image like the following below;
For the source =
[Source](the link must be paste here!) For the license details =
[license details](the link must be paste here!)
The following steps above when followed accurately will yield the results below:
The consequence of plagiarism and copyright abuse is stated clearly by the Admin @njaywan in his post about the newly implemented disciplinary actions. This post shows the punishment meted on to anyone who plagiarised or abuse copyright. The person caught will be muted on the platform thereby riding off the fellow on posting in the community.
I thank the Admin @njaywan for the tutorials in creating this post and for creating such an honourable platform of bringing the world of football fans closer and together. And I believe my post will give newbies in this community the necessary ways to make quality and plagiarism-free posts in the community.
"I am well aware of the rules of this community as well as the norms of steemit and will abide by them at all times"
Thank you all for your time and attention.Peace!
