To start off with, where will be the destination for Austrian international David Alaba at the end of the season? He has confirmed that he will be leaving Bayern Munich, and it seems the only club that has shown definite interest is Chelsea. Obviously Tomas Tuchel with his German connections now at charge at Chelsea may be one of the favourites to land his signature. It may seem that he has been around for ever, but Alaba is only 28 years of age, and in his prime, and so the next move for him will be an extremely important one. Will the Premier League and West London be his next destination?

Talking of Tuchel, he is starting to make his mind up on the make-up of his squad in the summer and it may be that one of either United States winger Christian Pulisic, 22 or Morocco forward Hakim Ziyech, 27, may have to be sold in the summer. Both have found it difficult to make it into the starting 11 for the German manager in recent games.

Now good central defenders are hard to come by and with Dayot Upamecano having signed a pre-agreement with Bayern Munich, as predicted here two weeks ago, Manchester United and Real Madrid (who both have needs in central defence) are looking at Braga defender David Carmo as a possible target. He is only 20 years of age, and it is believed he has a £35 million (40 million Euro) release clause, so he appears very good long term value. Another central defender on the radar of both clubs is Sevilla's 22-year-old French defender Jules Kounde. PSG are also allegedly interested in him too.

Arsenal have been pretty efficient in shipping out players who no longer form plans of Mikel Arteta's future squad, and another one of the old regime may go, with reports that central midfielder, Lucas Torreira, currently on loan at Atletico Madrid may have already signed a pre-agreement with Fiorentina in Serie A for next season. David Luiz, 33, maybe offered a contract extension with the club in the summer, if the Brazil international agrees to a player-coach role as well as an understanding that he may get reduced playing time.

Staying in North London, and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is never shy in firing coaches if they are not performing, and the dismal recent form of Jose Mourinho's team has been fuelling speculation that the Portuguese manager may not last out the season, although to break his contract it may cost Spurs 40 million Euros. Despite the cost, I understand both Leicester's Brendan Rogers and RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann are being sounded out, if ultimately needed.

Everton will make another attempt to sign Juventus and France midfielder Adrien Rabiot, 25, this summer after failing in the January transfer window. On a related note, their Dutch director of football Marcel Brands is close to agreeing a new contract with the Goodison Park club.

In Spain, Sevilla are interested in signing Liverpool forward Takumi Minamino. He was on the fringes of the Anfield team, and was sent out on loan to Southampton, however the La Liga club are keen to stop him returning to Anfield. The Japanese player would cost Sevilla around £10million, and would be available for transfer this summer.

Norwich City have told Bayern Munich they will have to pay between £30m-£35m if they want to sign right back Max Aarons this summer. Bayern have watched the 21-year old for two years and have now begun preliminary negotiations with Norwich for a potential signing this summer.

Finally for today, Diego Costa is closing in on a return to Brazil to play for Palmeiras. The 32-year-old striker was released by Atletico Madrid in January, and is now in negotiations with the biggest club in his hometown of Sao Paulo. Palmeiras have offered him a two-year deal worth around £2.6m per year after tax.
