The Professional Teacher

Anyone who helps others grow by providing them with information, knowledge and skills is a teacher.
A person who shares knowledge with others, and that is what parents do. We all have the potential of becoming parents and will have to train or teach our children by giving them the needed skill to life. So we can say that we all are potential teachers.
We are all burn teachers, but some have better teaching skills than others and a few have intentionally passed through training that enhanced their ability to teach.

What is your definition of a professional Teacher?

A professional teacher is anyone who has been trained to teach such that they use more than their instinctive teaching skills in the teaching process.
Professional teachers have a teaching license that give them the right to teach in formal education settings supporting their teaching methods with a good understanding of educational theory.

How do we differentiate a professional Teacher from those who are in the field for just the salary?

Among teachers we have salary teachers, passionate teachers, professional teachers and passionate professional teachers.

Salary teachers
This person is forced to teach because there is no other job and he has to pay bills. This type of teacher do not love their job and only wants the salary that comes with it. Characterized by no training no passion.

Passionate teachers
Such a teacher may not have the formal training as a teacher but has love for teaching and develops their natural teaching skills to a point that they can level up with professionals that have no passion. This teachers touch the lives of students.

Professional teachers
This is a teacher that has passed through the formal training that qualifies him to teach. They know how to teach and what to teach.

Passionate professional teachers
This is the best combination for a teacher, he has the passion to teach and has developed it by getting the needed training that makes him very good at his work.
This teachers bring out the talent in their students.

In Nigeria, you will have to be educated at a Teacher's Training College or get a Bachelor's degree in education. The process will need four years of training or more.
We are all teachers, but you need special education to become a professional teacher.

Do you think those who are there for the salary can offer same thing with professionals Who has passion for their work.

No. It is not possible to get the same level of outcome from a person who teach for the salary an a professional who has passion for his work.
A person teaching for salary has no structure, no skill no drive but the professional with passion has it all.
