It is a great pleasure to write for you today about one of the most beautiful places in the world, MERIDA, first of all I want to invite you to participate in Steemit Enagement Challenge ||💚||Season2, Week #1 ||💚|| 🛫🌏 Your travel manager ✈ in the Steemit Azerbaijan☪✔ community especially fellow @inspiration @tocho2 @norat23.
To start I tell you that Merida is located in the Andes region of my beautiful country VENEZUELA, a mountainous area and extraordinary vegetation, everything is cool because the temperatures are low especially in the area of the paramos.
Being in Merida you can enjoy the theme parks, active nightlife, zoo, museums and much more. On a cultural level, Merida has two Guinness records, the Coromoto ice cream parlor with more than 500 flavors available to enjoy and the highest and longest cable car in the world.... National Pride!
To enjoy several days I can tell you that you can get lodgings from $25 to $100 with a variety of extraordinary places ranging from simple rooms to inns, apartments and suites, for all tastes and budgets.
Among them:
There are two ways to get to Merida, one is through San Cristobal and the other through the moor, I will tell you about some places I visited in 2012 to encourage you to visit this wonderful place .... As I like to go enjoying nature I went through the moor, On the way there are many villages and tourist places, including the Mucubaji lagoon where you can enjoy a horseback ride to know the place, some super beautiful landscapes like movies, also, you can taste typical dishes of the region, in that opportunity I had lunch a typical meal of the Andes, the Andean pizza, is like a soup but they add milk and serve it with Andean arepas (wheat flour). Very good!
I did not go alone, I was accompanied by a friend, then we continued our way and arrived at the monument of the crazy light Caraballo, they did not let us go up because of the time, almost 6:00 pm and the fog enveloped us. We wasted no time and went into the stores where they sell clothing and accessories for the cold to buy mountain passes and gloves, plus some delicious strawberries with cream.
It is very important to dress warmly, as I told you before the temperatures are low.... If you go to Los Andes you can not miss the delicious strawberries with cream, they are strawberries grown in the same area and the attention of the people is extraordinary.
When we left there the road was not visible, we looked for a place to sleep, we stayed in a hotel and went out to dinner, always looking for the typical food of the place, in the search we found a very cozy and warm place where they offered us another typical food, trout, it is a fish that they produce, my friend ordered one with mushrooms and I with garlic, very tasty!... To sleep!
The next stop was the famous stone church, literally the whole structure is made of stone and very beautiful, we did not hesitate to get off to see it and take pictures.
We continued and finally arrived in the capital, Merida, we looked for a place to stay and went out to tour the city, the first thing we visited was the Coromoto ice cream parlor, which I mentioned at the beginning that appears in the Guinness records for being the ice cream parlor with more flavors in the world. We shared with other tourists and they recommended us to visit the theme parks, the paramo de la culata, the museum and many other places that when we arrived at the hotel we began to coordinate.
The next day, we had breakfast at the hotel and went to the paramo de la culata, but on the road we noticed a sign that said "U.P.S. FABRICIO OJEDA TRUCHICULTURA" and we took a detour to learn about this culture. There were several pools where they classified them by size until they reached adulthood for sale, a very nice guide told us the story of how with effort and dedication they achieved that.
The people are super friendly and diligent, guided tours leave from the city but as I went on my own I enjoyed even more, I like to go without time limits when I travel to enjoy every second of my travels and get culturized.
We returned to the road to the paramo de la culata and saw a sign that said: "Pueblito Sueños del abuelo" and we ventured back, you have to cancel tickets at a low cost, ideal to go with children and enjoy a miniature city .... It's a great place, beautiful flowers and roses everywhere you look! In the café we had the privilege of meeting the real Grandfather, the creator of the place, who kindly told us the story of how the creation came about; he has many grandchildren and to prevent them from going to another place to play he started to build them a mini Merida, it has warehouses, church, plaza, bank and everything you can imagine, very nice and creative. Then his grandchildren grew up and left, this was the reason he decided to open it to the public.
Now it is enjoyed by all visitors, including us.
Finally we arrived at the paramo de la culata and it was late, half day, the guides had already left, we could not make the tour, we returned to the center of the city had lunch and went to visit the places where they offer tourist tours, we paid to go to La Montaña de los sueños (Parque cinematográfico), we only had an hour to return and leave with the group, we went to the hotel we got ready and left the car in the parking lot.
Apart from this theme park you can also visit La Venezuela de Antier is a fabulous park where you live the experience of the first decades of the twentieth century of our country, Venezuela, they do cultural activities and explain traditions, customs and other recreational activities.
In addition, Los Aleros where they represent a typical village of the Andes and the tour guides are dressed in clothes of the time that revive and spend a pleasant day between recreational activities and knowing the customs and traditions.
I will tell you about my personal experience in the theme park: LA MONTAÑA DE LOS SUEÑOS.
This place is SPECIAL, the theme is about how the audiovisual world has evolved, they explain how they do the recordings taking the public to make them, entering I was selected for a scene where they explain how they do the dubbing, in addition, there is an exhibition of super cool cars, a mechanical park, a bar where there is very good live music, they show how radio, television, press and others from its beginnings. It was a very enriching and satisfying experience since I like all this.
We returned to the hotel and the next day very early we went to visit the museum of science and technology, and on the way to the place we saw a very beautiful monument in a square, it is called "Trout Square", and right there was the Aquarium Garden Park, and yes! we went in there .... There are many beautiful structures to enjoy in Merida.
After enjoying the fishes we went to the science and technology museum to get more culturized, but that day it was closed for maintenance, we only managed to take some pictures at the entrance and left it for the next day.
We still had a day left, so we decided to go to the Chorros de Millas Zoo, I had never seen a bear in person and there were lions, tigers, leopards, bears, tapirs, multiple birds and snakes, plus a lot of little portable shops that offer you samples of handmade punch of all flavors "FREE" on the tour, I bought four bottles, one of chocolate, arequipe, hazelnuts and Andean miche.
A wonderful place you must visit...
Finally we went to the science and technology museum the next day, it was great, they even had robotic dinosaurs, seismographic studies in real time, dancing with a skeleton, among many other super interesting and educational things.
I missed many places to visit, because of the time factor, but it is a pending point in my agenda, I would come back a million times more even to the same places I visited, I would love it to be with my family... and you What are you waiting for? Merida is a wonderful place?
TRAVELING IS LIVING MOMENTS TO GENERATE MEMORIES...
DON'T MISS IT, GO AND ENJOY IN LOS ANDES, IN MERIDA!
