My family is proud of our orchard. Several generations of our family took part in its creation. The garden is very close to the house, which is also very old.

An arch entwined with ivy. This is the entrance to the garden. Shady paths run from it in different directions. In the middle of the garden there is a large flower bed on which delicate fragrant roses grow.

This garden is large: everyone can retire if he wants. There are also areas of real forest in it - with birches, pines, my favorite larch trees.

Cherry trees peer into the windows. You can reach out of the window with your hand and pick up a handful of cherries. An apple tree scrabbles through another window. There are pear, apricot and plum trees in our garden.

When they bloom, not only scent pours into the room, but also light. In the garden there is plenty of space for bees, butterflies, dragonflies, not to mention birds.

Starlings have settled in our garden for a long time. Birdhouses for these singing migratory birds were made by my grandfather when he was not much older than me.

They are darkened by rain and time and are dilapidated. So my father and I decided to put new birdhouses. For several days they planed, sawed, and knocked down planks. It turned out okay dwellings for starlings.

We were in a hurry to fix them on a tree before the arrival of the birds. The old birdhouses were removed and placed in the barn. The days passed, birds were already in full swing in the neighboring birdhouses, and ours were empty. “We must have done something wrong,” my father and I reflected.

I often went out into the garden and looked at the birdhouse with hope. Once a starling sat down nearby

from the house on the branch. It seems that a friend is about to fly to him, and they will occupy an empty dwelling.
However, the starling sat down and flew away. "What if we return the old birdhouses to their original place?" - I turned to my dad. He agreed with me. Soon, life began to boil in these birdhouses: starlings were in full swing there.

The new houses also remained in their places. We no longer expected that someone would settle in them. Once I casually glanced at a new birdhouse and stopped rooted to the spot: the voices of starlings came from there!

But the most delightful corner of the garden is the goldfish pool, lined with lilies and daffodils. There are benches under the shadeiest trees. In the depths of the garden there are gazebos entwined with ivy. Birds are singing, tame squirrels are jumping, hares are quietly pacing.

I walked over to the apple tree, where another new bird house was attached. It turned out that he also became inhabited. Here are miracles!

What is not there

in this garden! And cherries, and plums, and cherries, and various bushes: raspberries, blackberries, red and black currants. Beautiful large apple trees, between which whole meadows of mint are green.

There are Persian terry lilacs, French jasmine and other rare flowers. When they bloom, a delicious scent spreads throughout the garden. It's nice to lie somewhere in a mint or sit under a huge spreading apple tree and look at the wonderful nature around you.

I hastened to the House with the good news. And at lunchtime we set a table right in the garden and held a small family party in honor of the arrival of starlings.
