Villain or Hero? My choice is Dhanush

I was personally excited about the movies that were to release this year, and out of them, I was particularly thrilled about the year end. There were so many movies thar I was looking forward towards the year end. Unfortunately, many of the releasing dates fell on the same dates as my assignment deadlines. But at the end, I anyway booked the first show and watch them regardless of my assignments. Movies were a good motivation for me to submit my assignment at least around 3pm, so I could watch the night show. So now, I have got so many movies that I'm excited to write about. I'll start with the new movie of Dhanush cz I have been a die hard fan of him for decades.

Naane Varuvean must have been most probably in the 2022 bucket list of any kollywood fan. The movie became a hot topic because to its main star. And the other reason is that they did not give much insight to the movie before it was released.

Prabhu

Kathir

Naane Varuvean is a supernatural thriller with a blend of other genres inside it where Dhanush gives life to both the villain and the hero. The praise and the criticism of the movie was based on the same factor that Dhanush got a much space to show his capacity. Dhanush acts as Prabhu; a father figure and Kathir with childhood traumas. The range of two characters are totally opposite, so he has to show the dynamic of these characters. It would be a good sign for a fan of Dhanush as he is under the spotlight in the majority of time. This same reason has led to a criticism as the movie seems to be underutilized the other characters. Some believes that the movie patronizes its secondary characters as their roles are undervalued. Film ends with an open ending leaving space for the fans to expect for a part two of the movie.

For me, Dhanush's acting + music make all my waiting for the movie worth it. And it won't do any harm in recommending it to a kollywood fan.
