28 Years Old

Everyone likes the month of December. Because it is a last month of the year. You can plan new things for the new year. Another thing is the Christmas. When we were in school, it is a month of holiday for us. Most awaited month for the whole year. However, this is the month that I was born. Then December is more special to me. Yeah.. Then this is about my 28th birthday. It was on the 4th of December.

Times files. I feel like I’m getting older. That’s the nature of the life. But when you come near to the door of 30, you may also feel like me. I don’t know whether this is a time to be happy or sad. Because year by year we are getting older and now I’m very near to thirty.

When I was 10,15,20, I used to count days for my birthday. But nowadays with this busy lifestyle and with the pressure of the heavy workload I don’t have time to think about it. Yeah I know it is a special day for me. But when prioritizing the work that I have to do, this day become a normal day like other days for me.

Though it felt like that for me, my lovely mother always remembered that day. Though it was a Sunday, my mother waked up early and prepared my lovely food of milk rice for me. Though preparing milk rice is a simple thing for her, the value of it for me is a big thing.

I received many wishes for me on that day. All of my wishes made me happy. In this time, I have received two special wishes. One of them is from my Mudara. Though he wished for me before, this time he wished me as my loving husband. So, it was a little bit different feeling than other years. The second wish is from my brother’s little daughter. Though she still can’t speak, she nicely smiled with me when my brother said happy birthday aunty. I know the hidden meaning of her smile is to agree with my brother’s sayings. So, I consider her smile as a wish for me. She is so cute. Her name is Vinuthi Ameliya.

Since it was a Sunday. I had to work. Though I can take a leave on this day, I had to work because the other shift member doesn’t have much experience. So, I felt this day was the same as a usual day. At 3pm I received a call from an unknown number and saying that we are Kapruka and you have a gift. I thought this was from Mudara. When I asked him, he told me that “No it’s not from me and maybe from your office”. I wondered and I know this is really not from my office. Then I spend the rest of time thinking about this.

Finally, it was received. As I though before it was from my loving Mudara. He has ordered a delicious cake, red roses and chocolates for me from Kapruka. No one gave me flowers before. Then this made me really happy than ever. I love all the gifts and wishes. I must say, this time I have received a good service form Kapruka. The cake was super delicious, the same as its appearance. Everything was wrapped in a nice way. Then I highly recommend Kapruka, if someone wants to send a gift for someone for a special day.
