Monkey Circus - 5% for SL-Charity

You may all have been seen some men walk along streets with a monkey tapping on a drum. They do pocket street shows. The monkey is trained to do several activities to make the audience happy. I must say I never agree with such activity that harms any animal.

Last weekend we saw such a man at Anuradhapura. He had a monkey, a snake, and a viper. Our little Dione's favorite cartoon is Jungle Beat. There's a monkey called Munki. Dione loves that character and sometimes acts as that monkey. When he saw the monkey owner he desperately needed to see the monkey. As a little kid, he doesn't understand any serious matter there.

So we had to call that man. He called the monkey "Banda" and the monkey do whatever he said. We all know they are naturally clever to do flips. Other than that he was trained to walk as a shepherd, salute and maintain balance on top of a stick.

When that man flew a horn the snake came out from a small basket. It seems that the snake dance according to the horn, but I have heard that snakes move according to the motion of the horn not according to the tone. Money is also collected by the monkey. He comes towards one by one and collects the money. We gave some fruits to the monkey too.

Honestly, it was very nice to see such a small circus. But we should all remember the dark side of these things.
