After leaving the Kaththar Church, we reached Yodha Wewa. There was the name stamped on a rock at the entrance. There were some space and a group of people were cooking there.

I have being to the same place once in 2017 and this time renewed my memory. Yodha Wewa (Giant's Tank) is located in Northern Province near Mannar Road. It is one of the largest tanks in SriLanka made by King Dhathusena. This place I mentioned is a view point, not a place for bath. There was a little road along with the tank, but I don't know, to where it leads.

This was our bus and You can see a mischievous cousin running around already

Again after a photography session we came back. That place is a convenient place with a shop nearby. There were short eats and a Kottu making place as well. But we bought only the packet items, which included more than 10 packets of savoury snacks. Then our duty was to eat them on the way.

During the drive a lady signaled to stop the bus with a few school children. She was a teacher, we picked them up and left them in the town.

After a journey of 6-7 hours we finally reached the Madu Church. As a pilgrimage site, Madu church holds its specific procedures. We went in to the church, while some of others went to the office to rent a house. My mother and some of others had checked that house and confirmed our stay there.

Then we headed to see what they had booked. It was a pretty good home with 3 bed rooms, a living room, a kitchen and 3 bathrooms. I am a big homie and hard adjust for some environments. But this time I had no other choice, but to adapt just for one night.

We had 6 little ones to take care of and it was too noisy. We first broomed the floor and unpacked the luggages from the bus. After keeping our bags in the rooms I went for a walk with my cousin brother without telling others, if not it becomes hard to take care of 6 mischievous kids.

Madu church has a large property around it. It includes different types of houses. Some looked pleasant and some did not. Upto today, I have stayed in different kind of houses each time.

But according to the policies from adults we should not complain about anything at there. There were sooo many peacocks and monkeys around the property, also there were roads everywhere extend to so far, but connective.

There are public places to bathe as well, also public washrooms. It is getting really crowded there during the feast days and it happens for people to camp outside under trees. So those places are mostly useful in that season.

Our house was located near the cemetry. After roaming around we went back to have our late lunch. Then we stayed inside, sometimes chit-chatting with each other and sometimes using our phones. It became dark and the holy mass started. They had fixed a loud speaker near where we stayed and it was full noisy inside our house as everyone was trying to talk louder to beat the sound of the speaker.

The cemetry

Our plan was to go to the church again after the mass at night. There are soldiers at the church's entrance. When we reached there, they said the church is closed and we drove back to the home. After a while a police officer went by the house. They drive across the roads to check whether something inappropriate happens at any house at night.

As usual I did not have dinner, had a wash around 12 am and arranged our sleeping area in the living room as I did not like to sleep in our room. We had to wake up early in the morning to get ready for the Sunday mass and also it was the day of heading back home.
