It is the second month I am working with succulents. So I am here to make a quick monthly update on what I have learned and what I experienced.

Just after I received my first succulent lot, I planted them in pots, but I remember my soil mix was a bit wet. After planting I observed leaves are getting yellow. I thought it was because of some mistake in re-potting. But after some days, the leaves started to become so pulpy and started to drop. In this way, one plant died completely. Before other plants die I removed them from the soil and let their roots dry.

The first thing I learned is, that succulents don't need water for weeks. If you drop more water for just one day, the plant can destroy.

Succulent soil mixture is also important. If we use red soil for this, plants will definitely die. So I mix some red soil with sand, compost, and coil. Actually, we don't need to put red soil at all. But as we don't have that much of sand, I use red soil also.

The final mixture is so loose. I had to purchase plenty of pots as these plants need to be placed in the shade. It is expensive, so I have to check for an alternative.

Throughout the month I tried out different mechanisms to propagate each plant. Each plant has its own way of propagating. I tried to propagate using leaves, and branches and also by putting in water. I will share the progress in next articles.
