Internship Program

Last few weeks we conducted several interviews from Colombo University for internships. I think we interviewed about 20 candidates and among them, we were able to finalize 5 good ones to work with us. Last Monday, the 6th of November was the day that we welcomed them all to our company.

Each year we onboard a certain amount of interns and when they join as bulks we conduct a special training schedule for them. This time we got 5 boys as our interns even though we wished to pick 3 girls and 3 boys. They are coming for a 6-month program.

As the first thing we offered them a gift pack containing a notebook, water bottle, and a t-shirt. Then it was my time to introduce the internship program to them. I had to explain to them how we had planned their upcoming weeks.

Then they had a few other introductory sessions regarding the company and company culture and ethics. Once all sessions are done we introduce new members to the team.

On the first day, they had lots of work including setting up laptops, installing tools, and setting up their email accounts. We have planned a four-week training program that helps them to smoothly adapt to the technologies we use.

This time, the schedule was made and almost all team members supported me with providing knowledge sessions. Now one week is over already and things are going smoother. Looking forward to seeing how things are going with our new buddies.
