Our Attempt of Hopper Making

One day at the food city we saw a packet of hopper mixture prepared to make hoppers. So we decided to try it out because last time we successfully made Thosei using a packet of instance Thosei mixture.

We were awaited for the correct day because we knew this will take forever. Finally, on one Sunday we decided to make hoppers using the mixture.

The packet contained instructions to prepare the mixture.

It needed only 30min to wait to have the final mixture. So we were so excited to make our first hopper.

Once the mixture is ready, we kept the hopper pan to heat. We use Harith's mother's hopper pan which she normally uses to make hoppers. Anyway, once all set we put the mixture on the hopper pan after rubbing some oil.

Unfortunately, the mixture was totally stuck to the pan and it became a mess. We thought this will be okay after multiple attempts. We tried like five hoppers but non of them came well.

We were already fed up trying this. Once we called our parents, the mother said try adding an egg to the mixtures. So we took an egg and beat it well and added it to the mixture.

It was a miracle! From the very first the hopper came well and it was easily removable from the pan.

We were super delighted with how it came. Then we made like 20 more hoppers from the packet. Some were egg hoppers and some were plain hoppers.

They were actually very delicious I must say. It was a good experience to us but we have a lot to learn. Especially most of my hoppers didn't come with the correct shape. Let's see how it will come next time!
