On Wednesday, January 3rd a mother I know in my area, came to our house to sell breadfruit. Even though I didn't want to buy them I bought one as I needed to help her. Her mother-in-law was the one who looked after my babies when they were kids. She is no longer alive. This mother has four children, the elder one is a daughter, doing a small job. Her husband is unable to work because he has veins disease. She stated that she is selling breadfruit to purchase school supplies for her children. When I heard that news, I was heartbroken and supported with Rs. 1000/- as the help to buy school supplies.
She also mentioned that her next son is very talented in playing football and is also a member of the school football team. She requested me to assist her in finding a used pair of shoes for her son to wear when playing. I have no friend who is playing football, therefore I asked how much the new pair cost, and she said Rs. 7000/-. I needed to help her and asked about the size of the shoes.
These days I am unable to spend such a big amount because we are paying very low interest rates on our fixed deposit which is my main source of income, and also, I had to spend a large amount on our home color wash. But I wanted to help him anyway, so I asked for help in a Facebook group, but no one responded.
Then I remembered sl-charity; I had read several posts about how they assist people in similar situations. Then, via Telegram, I contacted the sl-charity admin and explained the details, asking if they could help him. Sl-charity unanimously agreed with my request and agreed to transfer the cost in cash or steem. I promised him to check the prices and notify him on Saturday. On Saturday evening I went to a sports store to inquire about prices. There were shoes for Rs. 15000/- (steem 194), Rs. 12000/- (steem 155) and Rs. 7000.00. (steem 90). Then I bought a pair for Rs. 7000/- and forwarded the receipt to sl-charity. They transferred cash to my account within two hours of receiving my receipt.

On Sunday evening, at my request, the mother and son came and accepted the pair of shoes. I told them that sl-charity helped to buy these shoes. They were delighted to have such a new pair and asked me to express their gratitude to sl-charity.
