Lovely Long Beach

I get in trouble on other media for not liking it here.

That "cute island" with the cruise ship behind it? It's a man made oil drilling island. They built four of them. That's all they do there is drill for oil. You can't go on them and wouldn't want to if you could.

People defend "their town" I've lived here for 60 fucking years. It's changed for the worse. Year after year it's more crowded, hotter, more expensive, more polluted and just stupid. Am I a bitter old man? Yep. Would I be happier if I had a nice home a ways back from the crowds. Yes. A garage and a place to park?Yes. Air conditioning in the house and car? Yes. I'm probably the only person in California who has never had working air-conditioning in my cars. So it's mostly just my personal failures I guess. Well yes. That and the rampant development and nonstop construction and millions more people everywhere. La la la Lala llama . As usual I'm just falling off the cliff into a black hole. I just don't get why everyone LOVES summer here. Heat? Oh boy. It doesn't snow here in winter for fucks sake. Carry on...

The bike path? Oh yay, more people on the beach. be careful crossing it, they will run you down.

No trees. The breakwater that stops all the waves and a gigantic container ship spewing god knows what into the air and water. There have been over 20 of them out there idling waiting to get in the port.

Kite surfing is pretty cool. If you can afford it. And like wind.

This guy? Well he's obviously working it pretty good. Smarter than me that's for sure.

Kite surfing sails are nice to photograph. That couple there... Probably nice folks.
