A warm greeting to all my fellow Stemians and the readers of the United We Stand community. On the subject that I have been sharing with all of you, today I want to talk to you about what the Bible says in relation to the Family.
It is important to note that despite the distortions it has suffered throughout the history of humanity, the family has remained the most reliable bond of unity among human beings. Generally speaking, a person's family supports them throughout life in ways that no one else can or wants to.
From the beginning of mankind, God made it clear that he wanted man and woman to come together to form a family (Genesis 1: 27-28).
Likewise, God also instructed Adam and Eve to physically unite and live together, becoming one (Genesis 2:24).
God gives husband and wife a family: “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward on his part. Children born to a young man are like arrows in the hands of a warrior. How happy is the man who has his quiver full of them! " (Salm 127: 3-5).
The family, as God designed it, is a source of supreme joy and continuous pleasure.
God is a family, and he has a family on Earth (Ephesians 1: 5; 3: 14-15). At present, God's divine family is made up of the Father and the Son (Romans 1: 1-4; Hebrews 1: 1-2; Matthew 3:17). Furthermore, the spiritual family of God is also made up of the saints of God: "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God" (Romans 8:14).
Indeed, in order to lead many children to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should perfect the author of their salvation through suffering. Both the one who sanctifies and those who are sanctified have the same origin, which is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers (Hebrews 2: 9-11).
But God, as we know, who is rich in mercy, by his great love for us, gave us life with Christ, even when we were dead in sins. By grace you have been saved! And in union with Christ Jesus, God raised us up and made us sit with him in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 2: 4-6).
Thus, we see in the Scriptures that God has a family here on Earth, made up of his sons and daughters. They have repented of their sins and made a commitment to obey him, they have put their faith in him, they have believed in his promises, they have been baptized in water and then emerged from that “liquid sepulcher”, and they have received his Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands of a minister of Christ.
Part of God's ingenious communication with humanity takes place through physical models that represent spiritual realities. For example, the Scriptures describe our bodies as physical temples (2 Corinthians 5: 1) and they also describe the Church as a temple (1 Corinthians 3:16). God uses different symbols to represent the divine, spiritual, and immortal reality of his plan of salvation.
So is marriage too. The marital and family relationships that human beings are privileged to enjoy are simply models or types of God's spiritual family and the coming marriage of Jesus Christ to his people transformed from him (Revelation 19: 7).
This is how it can be said that the fundamental purpose of the family on Earth is to provide a great spiritual and divine family for God for all eternity; This is why the importance of the physical family is so vital to God and to us. When we understand the fundamental purpose for which God established our human families, we gain peace and security and can overcome the selfish tendency to view children as obstacles or nuisances.
We can also more easily accept the opportunities that God gives us to dedicate ourselves daily to the well-being of our little ones. This will bring us joy and other rewards, some immediate and some later. But all human beings have a human nature that fights against us, as an enemy that we must defeat. And we can overcome him, through prayer to God and meditation on his Word, in addition to the strength and comfort that come from the Father and Christ through the Holy Spirit.
The family unit helps us to strengthen the marital relationship. The family relationship has a fundamental purpose: that all those who are willing, become part of the divine family of God. Now you know the fundamental purpose of the family unit. And with that glorious knowledge, you can help secure your own family in the peace of the Prince of Peace, Christ Jesus!
Glad to continue sharing with all of you through this great community.
Greetings and blessins.
