SEC S19W4-My city special bites

Hello All steemians , Let’s come to the Point direct, without wasting the time ,

This is a very interesting competition, in which we are given complete freedom to fly our imaginations. But still, since the topic is very serious and related to facts, we have to be careful while flying.

My city of residence is Meerut, a famous city very close to the capital of my country India, Delhi, it is also called NCR. The boundaries of my city are spread over a radius of 20 kilometers. It is a historical and highly developed city famous for its stories.

My city is divided into two parts, one of which is called old city , this part of the city is a symbol of very old cultural heritage and history. The residents here are still living in very narrow streets and old houses, and are doing their traditional ancestral work.

But some dishes made in my city are wonders of their kind, their aroma and taste are famous all over the world.
I feel that the availability of internet and the growing spread of social media has brought people of the world very close, and due to this, international dishes are now available in all the countries and big cities of the world, but today I will not discuss any restaurant or hotel. Today I will display some unique and priceless famous food items of my city and tell about them.

Even today there are some dishes in my city which cannot be made anywhere else in the world like they are made in my city. I would like to mention only 3 of these special dishes. Rewari, Gajak and Nankhatai.

Out of these, Rewari and Gajak are made from jaggery/sugar and white sesame seeds and ghee, they are very crispy and tasty to eat, but they are available only from October to March because they are very hot in nature.

Nankhatai is prepared from refined flour, semolina, sugar and ghee, they are very tasty and soft to eat.

These three dishes have become the identity of Meerut city, and these three items are exported from here to various parts of the country and abroad. Only people from certain clans who prepare these have been maintaining their specialties for hundreds of years. Their work is being carried on from generation to generation.

I also want to invite here to read and comment on my story.

Meerut is a traditional place that can be understand by its food. I'm so surprised to know that the three foods you mentioned don't originate anywhere else in the world except in your city. Not only places but they are only available for a certain period of time is also very surprising. Generation after generation this food is prepared only by experienced people so its quality, taste is the same as before. Nice to know about these three foods in your city. Good luck to you.

Thanks@pea07 good to see you after a long gap.but I can understand you are busy.
I am sure that these three items are speciality of our city.

Hello @m-fdo
Your comment has impressed me. I would like to tell you one more thing that all the three dishes made here are also exported to the immigrants living outside our country, and let me tell you that millions of people from our and your countries are settled in Australia, Canada, Britain, America, and Central Asia.
